Worktree Setup is an agent skill from kurotu/VRCQuestTools. Use this skill FIRST, before anything else, whenever work is about to happen in a brand-new VRCQuestTools checkout — right after git clone or git worktree add, or when the user mentions a fresh/new worktree, clone, or checkout and wants to launch Unity, run EditMode/PlayMode tests, or build there. A fresh checkout is always missing untracked dependencies; this skill performs the two mandatory setup steps (resolve VPM packages, download astcenc binaries). Also use when a fresh checkout misbehaves in ways that…
Its SKILL.md is about 610 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Development, covering Git worktrees. It works with Git and Linux. The repository describes itself as: Unity editor extension to support uploading VRChat avatars for Oculus Quest. The licence is MIT.
2 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit c68d147. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
bashpwshFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Worktree Setup loads about 606 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 230 tokens; SKILL.md has 191 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/worktree-setup/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).A fresh working copy of VRCQuestTools needs two setup steps before Unity work can start.
Some packages under Packages/ (e.g. com.vrchat.avatars, com.vrchat.base) are VPM dependencies
resolved into the working copy and are not tracked in git — a fresh worktree starts without them. Check
whether Packages/com.vrchat.base exists; if it's missing, run vrc-get resolve (see the
vrc-get skill) to install all VPM dependencies before launching Unity with uloop-launch.
Launching Unity first can cause it to fail or generate broken package state.
The astcenc CLI binaries used for fast ASTC texture compression are not committed to the
repository; download them once per clone/worktree:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
bash scripts/download-astcenc.sh | Download astcenc binaries (Windows + Linux) on Linux/macOS/Git Bash |
pwsh scripts/download-astcenc.ps1 | Download astcenc binaries (Windows + Linux) on Windows |
Both accept --platform windows|linux|all (default all) and are idempotent (re-running when
the binaries already match the recorded SHA256 is a no-op). If this step is skipped, VRCQuestTools
still works — texture compression automatically falls back to Unity's built-in compressor — but
the astcenc code path is not exercised and its tests are skipped.

PX4/PX4-Autopilot
Build PX4 board firmware on macOS in the px4-dev Docker container, including git worktrees, and stage commit-labeled artifacts without flashing hardware.
AgentsMesh/AgentsMesh
Creates or reuses an isolated AgentsMesh Git worktree from a verified base branch, preserves existing changes, and optionally starts the worktree-scoped development environment.
jnMetaCode/superpowers-zh
Sets up an isolated workspace before feature work or plan execution, preferring native worktree tools and falling back to git worktree, with instructions in Chinese.
Chachamaru127/claude-code-harness
Hands one implementation task to Cursor Composer in an isolated git worktree, then reviews its diff and cherry-picks the result into the main branch.
k8zdev/k8z
Automate git worktree creation and copy private files (not tracked in git) to new workdirs.
michaelshimeles/skills
Start a new task in an isolated Git worktree branched from origin/main so multiple agents can work on the same repo in parallel without conflicts.

Worktree Setup is an agent skill from kurotu/VRCQuestTools. Worktree Setup fits situations like: mentions a fresh/new worktree; checkout and wants to launch Unity; run EditMode/PlayMode tests; A fresh checkout misbehaves in ways that indicate skipped setup: Unity wont open the project.
Run `npx skills add kurotu/VRCQuestTools --skill worktree-setup -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/worktree-setup in kurotu/VRCQuestTools) into .claude/skills/worktree-setup in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add kurotu/VRCQuestTools --skill worktree-setup -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/worktree-setup, .gemini/skills/worktree-setup, .github/skills/worktree-setup and .opencode/skills/worktree-setup in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Worktree Setup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (bash and pwsh).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Worktree Setup is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 606 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
