What it does

Gameobject Create is an agent skill from IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP. Create a new GameObject in the currently opened Prefab or active Scene, optionally parented under another GameObject and pre-positioned. Pass primitiveType to spawn a Unity primitive (Cube, Sphere, etc.) instead of an empty GameObject.

Its SKILL.md is about 1.6k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Game Development, covering Game development. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: AI Skills, MCP Tools, and CLI for Unity Engine. Full AI develop and test loop. Use cli for quick setup. Efficient token usage, advanced tools. Any C method may be turned into a… The licence is Apache-2.0.

When your agent uses it

  • Tasks that involve Game development

Example prompts

  • “/gameobject-create”

Requirements

  • Node.js

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 4c8056f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

    Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

    From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • npm
    • npx

    From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

    From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

    Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

    From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Gameobject Create loads about 1.6k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 64 tokens; SKILL.md has 239 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~64
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.6k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

name
gameobject-create
description
Create a new GameObject in the currently opened Prefab or active Scene, optionally parented under another GameObject and pre-positioned. Pass `primitiveType` to spawn a Unity primitive (Cube, Sphere, etc.) instead of an empty GameObject.

GameObject / Create

Create a new GameObject in opened Prefab or in a Scene. If needed - provide proper 'position', 'rotation' and 'scale' to reduce amount of operations.

Inputs

  • name — required non-empty name.
  • parentGameObjectRef (optional) — when provided, the new GameObject is parented under this one (SetParent(parent, worldPositionStays: false)); otherwise it's created at scene/prefab root.
  • position / rotation / scale — optional transform; default to zero / zero / one.
  • isLocalSpace — when true, applies the transform in local space relative to the parent.
  • primitiveType (optional) — when set, the GameObject is created via GameObject.CreatePrimitive (adds the appropriate renderer/collider for the primitive shape).

How to Call

bash
unity-mcp-cli run-tool gameobject-create --input '{
  "name": "string_value",
  "parentGameObjectRef": "string_value",
  "position": "string_value",
  "rotation": "string_value",
  "scale": "string_value",
  "isLocalSpace": false,
  "primitiveType": "string_value"
}'

For complex input (multi-line strings, code), save the JSON to a file and use:

bash
unity-mcp-cli run-tool gameobject-create --input-file args.json

Or pipe via stdin (recommended):

bash
unity-mcp-cli run-tool gameobject-create --input-file - <<'EOF'
{"param": "value"}
EOF
Troubleshooting

If unity-mcp-cli is not found, either install it globally (npm install -g unity-mcp-cli) or use npx unity-mcp-cli instead. Read the /unity-initial-setup skill for detailed installation instructions.

When should I use Gameobject Create?

Gameobject Create fits situations like: tasks that involve Game development.

How do I install Gameobject Create in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill gameobject-create -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (Unity-MCP-Plugin/.claude/skills/gameobject-create in IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP) into .claude/skills/gameobject-create in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install Gameobject Create in Codex?

Run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill gameobject-create -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (Unity-MCP-Plugin/.claude/skills/gameobject-create in IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP) into .agents/skills/gameobject-create in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use Gameobject Create in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill gameobject-create -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/gameobject-create, .gemini/skills/gameobject-create, .github/skills/gameobject-create and .opencode/skills/gameobject-create in your project.

What does Gameobject Create need to run?

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Gameobject Create needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm and npx). Our summary lists: Node.js.

Does Gameobject Create access the network?

SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Gameobject Create safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Gameobject Create use?

Gameobject Create is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Gameobject Create use?

About 1.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to Gameobject Create?

Skills that share tags, products or a category with Gameobject Create: Sprite Gen (aldegad/sprite-gen, 2.6k stars), Unreal Blueprint Authoring (flopperam/unreal-engine-mcp, 1.1k stars), MCP Driver (RandallLiuXin/GodotMaker, 549 stars) and UMG Material MCP (winyunq/UnrealMotionGraphicsMCP, 207 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.

Who maintains Gameobject Create?
