What it does
Assets Find is an agent skill from IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP. Search the Unity asset database using a search filter string. The filter accepts names, labels (l:), types (t:), AssetBundles (b:), areas (a:), and globs (glob:). See the body for the full filter syntax.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Game Development, covering Game development. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: AI Skills, MCP Tools, and CLI for Unity Engine. Full AI develop and test loop. Use cli for quick setup. Efficient token usage, advanced tools. Any C method may be turned into a… The licence is Apache-2.0.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 84319d7. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Tool permissions
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

Context cost
Assets Find loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 56 tokens; SKILL.md has 380 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Always· name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~56

~1.3k
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
Safety
Auto-check passed
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Search the Unity asset database using a search filter string. The filter accepts names, labels (`l:`), types (`t:`), AssetBundles (`b:`), areas (`a:`), and globs (`glob:`). See the body for the full filter syntax.
Assets / Find
Search the asset database using the search filter string. Allows you to search for Assets. The string argument can provide names, labels or types (classnames).
Filter syntax
Name — filter assets by their filename (without extension). Words separated by whitespace are treated as separate name searches.
Labels (l:) — assets can have labels attached. Use l: before each label.
Types (t:) — find assets based on explicitly identified types. Available types include AnimationClip, AudioClip, AudioMixer, ComputeShader, Font, GUISkin, Material, Mesh, Model, PhysicMaterial, Prefab, Scene, Script, Shader, Sprite, Texture, VideoClip, VisualEffectAsset, VisualEffectSubgraph.
AssetBundles (b:) — find assets which are part of an Asset bundle.
Area (a:) — find assets in a specific area. Valid values: all, assets, packages.
Globbing (glob:) — use globbing to match specific rules.
Searching is case-insensitive. Use searchInFolders to restrict the search scope. maxResults caps the returned list (default 10) — results beyond it are truncated.
If unity-mcp-cli is not found, either install it globally (npm install -g unity-mcp-cli) or use npx unity-mcp-cli instead.
Read the /unity-initial-setup skill for detailed installation instructions.

When should I use Assets Find?
Assets Find fits situations like: tasks that involve Game development.
How do I install Assets Find in Claude Code?
Run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill assets-find -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (Unity-MCP-Plugin/.claude/skills/assets-find in IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP) into .claude/skills/assets-find in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
How do I install Assets Find in Codex?
Run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill assets-find -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (Unity-MCP-Plugin/.claude/skills/assets-find in IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP) into .agents/skills/assets-find in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Can I use Assets Find in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP --skill assets-find -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/assets-find, .gemini/skills/assets-find, .github/skills/assets-find and .opencode/skills/assets-find in your project.
What does Assets Find need to run?
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Assets Find needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm and npx). Our summary lists: Node.js.
Does Assets Find access the network?
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm and npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Is Assets Find safe to install?
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
What licence does Assets Find use?
Assets Find is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
How many tokens does Assets Find use?
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
What are the alternatives to Assets Find?
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Assets Find: Sprite Gen (aldegad/sprite-gen, 2.7k stars), Unreal Blueprint Authoring (flopperam/unreal-engine-mcp, 1.1k stars), MCP Driver (RandallLiuXin/GodotMaker, 550 stars) and UMG Material MCP (winyunq/UnrealMotionGraphicsMCP, 210 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
Who maintains Assets Find?
IvanMurzak (a GitHub user) maintains it in IvanMurzak/Unity-MCP, which has 4,412 GitHub stars. The repository holds 80 skills in this directory. The repository was last updated on October 10, 2026.
