pr-creationWalks through opening a pull request in the Handsontable monorepo: branch naming, pre-flight checks, the PR template, draft creation and the PR-first changelog flow.
The skill is loaded before any gh pr create or push of a feature, docs or fix branch. Branch names follow patterns for ClickUp tasks (a feature or docs prefix, the readable task ID and a short description), public GitHub issues and releases. The ClickUp ID must be the human-readable custom ID, never the internal hash, and it is fetched with a task lookup right after a task is created.
Before opening a PR the agent runs eslint, stylelint and the build for the handsontable package and fixes any failures. It fills the GitHub PR template: context, how the change was tested, related issues, affected projects and the checklist, which includes the CLA status check. Every PR targets develop and is created as a draft. The changelog file is named after the PR number, so the PR is created first and its number used in the changelog entry. If a push fails on SSH keys, a gh auth setup-git fallback pushes over HTTPS.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 68b5e97. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npmghgitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Handsontable Pull Request Workflow loads about 3.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 154 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,216 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,216 words (~3,071 tokens).

Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill pr-creation -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/pr-creation in handsontable/handsontable) into .claude/skills/pr-creation in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill pr-creation -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/pr-creation in handsontable/handsontable) into .agents/skills/pr-creation in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill pr-creation -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/pr-creation, .gemini/skills/pr-creation, .github/skills/pr-creation and .opencode/skills/pr-creation in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Handsontable Pull Request Workflow needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm, gh and git). Our summary lists: The GitHub CLI (gh), authenticated; A checkout of the Handsontable repository.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: cla.handsontable.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Handsontable Pull Request Workflow has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 3.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 12k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
