cv-usageA skill your agent uses when the user asks about usage analytics, statistics, token usage, or cost summary — e.g.
Cv Usage is an agent skill from tombelieber/claude-view. Use when the user asks about usage analytics, statistics, token usage, or cost summary — e.g. 'usage stats', 'token usage', 'how many sessions this week', 'show me my numbers', 'cost summary', 'usage report'
Its SKILL.md is about 3.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 1 other file.
It sits in Data & Analytics, covering Product analytics, Statistics and LLM cost and token optimization. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: 10 Claude sessions running. What are they doing? Live dashboard — monitor, cost tracking, search, sub-agent visibility. The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ff3cdd1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
mcp__claude-view__get_statsmcp__claude-view__get_token_statsmcp__claude-view__stats_ai_generation_statsmcp__claude-view__stats_overviewmcp__claude-view__stats_storage_statsmcp__claude-view__stats_get_trendsFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npxFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Cv Usage loads about 3.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 54 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,134 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from tombelieber/claude-view at commit ff3cdd1, republished under its MIT licence (© tombelieber). 1,134 words, ~3,110 tokens.
.claude/skills/cv-usage/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.You have access to the claude-view MCP server which provides tools for monitoring, analyzing, and managing Claude Code sessions. The claude-view server must be running on localhost (it auto-starts via the plugin hook).
Important: All tool names are prefixed with mcp__claude-view__. When calling a tool, always use the full prefixed name.
Error handling: If a tool returns an error about the server not being detected, tell the user to start it with npx claude-view.
Show usage statistics, token consumption, storage, and trends. This skill focuses on quantitative usage data. For behavioral patterns and insights, use the /insights skill instead.
Get dashboard stats. Call mcp__claude-view__get_stats to get session counts, top projects, and current week metrics. If the user specifies a time range, pass from and to parameters.
Get token stats. Call mcp__claude-view__get_token_stats to get input/output/cache token totals and cache hit ratio.
Get trends. Call mcp__claude-view__stats_get_trends to get week-over-week comparison.
Present the report:
If the user asks about a specific time range (e.g. "this week", "last month"), pass from and to parameters to get_stats.
If no sessions found, say "No Claude Code sessions found for this time range."
Do NOT show Fluency Score in this report. It requires behavioral context that the /insights skill provides. Showing a bare number without context violates the trust-over-accuracy principle.

Run `npx skills add tombelieber/claude-view --skill cv-usage -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/plugin/skills/cv-usage in tombelieber/claude-view) into .claude/skills/cv-usage in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add tombelieber/claude-view --skill cv-usage -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/plugin/skills/cv-usage in tombelieber/claude-view) into .agents/skills/cv-usage in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add tombelieber/claude-view --skill cv-usage -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cv-usage, .gemini/skills/cv-usage, .github/skills/cv-usage and .opencode/skills/cv-usage in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Cv Usage needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx). Our summary lists: Node.js. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: mcp__claude-view__get_stats, mcp__claude-view__get_token_stats, mcp__claude-view__stats_ai_generation_stats, mcp__claude-view__stats_overview, mcp__claude-view__stats_storage_stats, mcp__claude-view__stats_get_trends.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cv Usage is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 3.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 12k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
