What it does

Querying Indonesian Gov Data is an agent skill from suryast/indonesia-gov-apis. Find and assess Indonesian public-data sources using a dated, evidence-backed catalog. Route statistics, weather, certification, finance, legal, geospatial and ministry queries to reviewed documentation. Respect authorization, privacy and publisher limits; do not treat historical examples as working APIs.

Its SKILL.md is about 1.4k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 443 other files, including scripts and reference files (for example `.github/browser-tests/package-lock.json`, `.github/browser-tests/package.json` and `.github/dependabot.yml`).

It sits in Data & Analytics, covering Statistics and Geospatial analysis. The repository describes itself as: 🇮🇩 50+ Indonesian Government APIs & Data Sources — BPS, OJK, BPJPH, BPOM, Bank Indonesia, IDX, BMKG + MCP servers. Python examples, scraping patterns, and practical gotchas… The licence is MIT.

Workflow steps

7 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Read canonical source documentation and its review/access catalog fields.
  2. Separate unverified, primary_documentation_reviewed and endpoint_observed.
  3. Prefer publisher documentation and licensed aggregate downloads. Obtain approved
  4. When permitted, use a bounded request with a timeout, HTTP-error handling,
  5. Stop at login, CAPTCHA, access denial or other explicit restrictions. Do not use
  6. Record exact date, endpoint, method and limitations without credentials or PII.
  7. Verify certification/licensing with the appropriate original publisher. Missing

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 61d4e61. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships 1 file in scripts/, which the agent can run.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Querying Indonesian Gov Data loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs, and up to ~5.6k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 84 tokens; SKILL.md has 547 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~84
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.4k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~5.6k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

Querying Indonesian public data

Read catalog/sources.json first. Counts describe documentation records, including overlapping services and non-government publishers, not verified open APIs. Supplementary references are guides, not extra sources. The October 10, 2026 review records primary evidence and gaps. Empty monitor_ids means unmonitored; monitored HTTP success is not API success. The separate monitor-only registry documents the 18 additional PR #10 probes; the validated monitoring inventory is 75 endpoints, independent of the source-document count.

59 source records: 58 Indonesia-related and 1 Japan NTA reference; 11 supplementary guides. Tier 7 has seven records. Aturan.org is a non-government, unmonitored documentation record, not a verified integration.

Execution workflow

  1. Read canonical source documentation and its review/access catalog fields.
  2. Separate unverified, primary_documentation_reviewed and endpoint_observed. None means that every interface works, or that authenticated access was tested.
  3. Prefer publisher documentation and licensed aggregate downloads. Obtain approved credentials through official channels and keep them out of URLs/logs/output where possible.
  4. When permitted, use a bounded request with a timeout, HTTP-error handling, content-type checks and guarded parsing. Do not assume schemas from historical code.
  5. Stop at login, CAPTCHA, access denial or other explicit restrictions. Do not use proxies, stealth fingerprints, CAPTCHA solvers or repeated requests to evade them.
  6. Record exact date, endpoint, method and limitations without credentials or PII. A 200 landing page is not a successful data query; missing regional observations are unknown, not proof of geo-blocking.
  7. Verify certification/licensing with the appropriate original publisher. Missing or stale results do not establish legality, compliance or safety.

Failure handling

  • 403/CAPTCHA/login: stop and use the authorized/manual path. Do not guess a geography-based explanation.
  • Timeout/DNS: record the vantage-point failure; do not conclude global outage or project closure.
  • 429: honor Retry-After and publisher guidance; no repository-wide numeric quota is valid.
  • HTML where JSON expected: report an incompatible response, not an empty dataset.
  • CSRF/session change: recheck permitted UI behavior; session handling is not access authorization.

Offline catalog validation checks documentation consistency only. MCP references are separate from an executed integration. Do not install the old guessed proxy package or infer /tools/<name> HTTP routes from MCP tool names.
