pluginsInstalls Superset plugins, connects the accounts they need and calls their MCP tools through the credential proxy, without writing tokens to your machine.
A plugin brings skills, which land in the directories agents read, and MCP tools, which run through Superset's proxy. Install state belongs to your account, while credentials stay server-side and no token is written locally. The agent lists plugins with `superset plugins list`, adding `--available` for the marketplace, plus `superset skills list`, and reads the status column: `needs connection` means skills are installed but no account is authorized, which is a connect step and not a bug.
Installation uses `superset plugins install`, with `--update` for the marketplace's current version and a name-at-marketplace form when two marketplaces share a name. Connecting is either OAuth, where the agent hands you a URL because it cannot finish headlessly, or an API key passed over stdin instead of an argument, since arguments appear in `ps` and shell history. Tools are called by plugin name with `superset mcp tools --plugin` and `superset mcp call-tool`, listing them first because names and argument schemas come from the plugin's server.
5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2e47842. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Superset Plugins and Tools loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 79 tokens; SKILL.md has 538 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 538 words (~1,288 tokens).
“A plugin brings two things: skills, which land in the directories agents read, and MCP tools, which are called through Superset's proxy. Install state lives on the account, so a plugin installed here is installed everywhere you sign in. The…”

Installs Superset plugins, connects the accounts they need and calls their MCP tools through the credential proxy, without writing tokens to your machine. A plugin brings skills, which land in the directories agents read, and MCP tools, which run through Superset's proxy. Install state belongs to your account, while credentials stay server-side and no token is written locally.
Superset Plugins and Tools fits situations like: installing, removing or updating a Superset plugin; connecting an account such as Linear or Sentry to an installed plugin; listing the MCP tools a plugin exposes and calling one; finding out why a plugin's tools are not available.
Run `npx skills add superset-sh/superset --skill plugins -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/superset/skills/plugins in superset-sh/superset) into .claude/skills/plugins in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add superset-sh/superset --skill plugins -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/superset/skills/plugins in superset-sh/superset) into .agents/skills/plugins in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add superset-sh/superset --skill plugins -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/plugins, .gemini/skills/plugins, .github/skills/plugins and .opencode/skills/plugins in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Superset Plugins and Tools is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The Superset CLI, signed in to your account; An account to authorize for each plugin, through OAuth or an API key. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash(superset plugins:*), Bash(superset mcp:*), Bash(superset skills:*).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Superset Plugins and Tools has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
