warLooks up the 33 numbered war strategies by list, number, keyword or situation from a bundled JSON index.
A lookup tool for 33 numbered war strategies, each with a name, a short code name and an essence line. It is invoked through the plugin's war command in Claude Code or Codex: no argument lists all 33, a number shows that strategy, and a keyword or a situation such as being outnumbered searches the index.
Lookups read references/war_index.json, resolved relative to the skill folder rather than your working directory, using rg with grep as a fallback. The strategies are grouped into self-directed, team, defensive, offensive and unconventional sets, and a single strategy is printed as a numbered title followed by its essence.

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

War Strategies Reference loads about 787 tokens when it runs, and up to ~3.6k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 23 tokens; SKILL.md has 308 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 308 words (~787 tokens).
“Invoke with Claude Code /palpatine:war or /palpatine:war , or Codex $palpatine:war or $palpatine:war .”

It is invoked through the plugin's war command in Claude Code or Codex: no argument lists all 33, a number shows that strategy, and a keyword or a situation such as being outnumbered searches the index.
War Strategies Reference fits situations like: browsing the full list of 33 strategies; looking up a strategy by its number; finding a strategy by keyword or by the situation you are in.
Run `npx skills add NovusEdge/palpatine --skill war -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/palpatine/skills/war in NovusEdge/palpatine) into .claude/skills/war in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add NovusEdge/palpatine --skill war -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/palpatine/skills/war in NovusEdge/palpatine) into .agents/skills/war in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add NovusEdge/palpatine --skill war -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/war, .gemini/skills/war, .github/skills/war and .opencode/skills/war in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, War Strategies Reference needs the command-line tools its instructions call (rg). Our summary lists: ripgrep (rg) or grep to search the index.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
War Strategies Reference has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 787 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 2.8k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
