cmux-keyboard-shortcutsTurns a described workflow preference into cmux keyboard shortcut bindings, proposing templates such as tmux-style or Vim-style and applying only what the user picks.
The skill edits ~/.config/cmux/cmux.json through the bundled cmux-settings script, which reads JSONC, writes atomically and validates both the JSON and the setting keys it recognizes, rather than touching the file directly. Bindings live under shortcuts.bindings.<actionId>, as either a single stroke like cmd+b or a chord array such as ctrl+b then c, where the first stroke needs a modifier unless the key is Space.
Unbinding prefers an explicit null value over string aliases like none or disabled, because null is the clearest JSON representation and matches the shipped templates. A few actions have special rules: selectSurfaceByNumber and selectWorkspaceByNumber need a digit from 1 to 9, showHideAllWindows is the only system-wide shortcut and also needs its own Global Hotkey setting enabled before it actually works, and globalSearch only fires while cmux itself is focused.
Contributing a brand-new cmux-owned shortcut is a separate, stricter path: it must be added to the Swift settings source, exposed in the in-app settings UI, supported as a cmux.json key and documented on the public shortcuts page, all four together rather than a subset.
6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 1e82fa4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
cmux Keyboard Shortcut Customizer loads about 3.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 73 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,054 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,054 words (~3,120 tokens).
