cmux-dev-workflowContributor workflow for the cmux macOS app: setup, tagged local builds, Xcode project normalization and sidebar extension tags.
Repository commands run only from a trusted checkout, since even verify-local.py --help loads repository code. Fast feedback starts with python3 scripts/verify-local.py. For native app or build-input changes, the agent builds with a tag through ./scripts/reload.sh, which builds without launching unless --launch is added. Tags isolate bundle IDs, sockets and build output, so bare xcodebuild and an untagged DEV app are off limits, and the agent never quits or relaunches your running cmux.
The setup script initializes submodules, builds GhosttyKit and installs a pre-commit hook that normalizes staged project files and registers new Python tests. After project edits the agent runs verify-local.py --only project, and toolchain pin changes are treated as team decisions. Sidebar extensions need a distinct extension-point ID, bundle-ID suffix and display-name suffix per tag and are built with scripts/reload-extension.sh. Three reference files cover tags, normalization and extension tagging.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b98fdc2. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

cmux Dev Workflow loads about 715 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 288 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 288 words (~715 tokens).

Contributor workflow for the cmux macOS app: setup, tagged local builds, Xcode project normalization and sidebar extension tags. py --help loads repository code.py.
cmux Dev Workflow fits situations like: preparing a tagged local build of cmux after changing native code; setting up a cmux checkout for the first time; normalizing the Xcode project file after editing it; building a sidebar extension under its own tag.
Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-dev-workflow in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .claude/skills/cmux-dev-workflow in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-dev-workflow in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .agents/skills/cmux-dev-workflow in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-dev-workflow -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cmux-dev-workflow, .gemini/skills/cmux-dev-workflow, .github/skills/cmux-dev-workflow and .opencode/skills/cmux-dev-workflow in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, cmux Dev Workflow needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: A trusted cmux checkout on macOS with Xcode; Python 3 for the verification scripts.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
cmux Dev Workflow has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 715 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.6k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
