writing-docs-pagesRules for writing Handsontable guide pages: required frontmatter, page structure, framework-specific example embedding, writing style and sidebar registration.
Pages in docs/content/guides start with required YAML frontmatter that includes a title and a metaTitle. A menuTag of new or updated marks fresh or substantially changed pages but is left off for typo, link and changelog edits, and addedIn holds the full quoted version of the release that introduced a feature, since a malformed or never-released version makes the build fail. The body has no H1, begins with a one or two sentence overview and a table of contents marker, then second-level headings from basic to advanced.
Framework-specific content is wrapped in only-for blocks for JavaScript, React, Angular and Vue, and examples are embedded with example blocks whose flags set tab order, with Vue 3 using a single TypeScript single-file component and Angular using TypeScript and HTML tabs. Style rules call for active voice, American English, short sentences, the second person, an Oxford comma, no evaluative adjectives, bold for UI elements, code formatting for API names, a full stop on every sentence and the docs site's internal link syntax. Sidebar registration and trademark rules are covered as well.
8 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit fff66b1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npmFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Handsontable Docs Page Writing loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 53 tokens; SKILL.md has 383 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 383 words (~1,083 tokens).
“Put the ::: markers on their own lines, with blank lines around the content. Frameworks: javascript, react, angular, vue.”

Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill writing-docs-pages -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/writing-docs-pages in handsontable/handsontable) into .claude/skills/writing-docs-pages in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill writing-docs-pages -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/writing-docs-pages in handsontable/handsontable) into .agents/skills/writing-docs-pages in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill writing-docs-pages -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/writing-docs-pages, .gemini/skills/writing-docs-pages, .github/skills/writing-docs-pages and .opencode/skills/writing-docs-pages in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Handsontable Docs Page Writing needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm). Our summary lists: A checkout of the Handsontable repository.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Handsontable Docs Page Writing has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
