walkontable-testingExplains how to run and write tests for Handsontable's Walkontable rendering engine, which has its own Jasmine, Puppeteer and Jest pipelines apart from the main E2E tests.
Walkontable follows the same freeze as the main suite. Its legacy specs in `src/3rdparty/walkontable/test/spec/` run with Jasmine and Puppeteer under a separate Rspack config through `npm run test:walkontable --prefix handsontable`, and `test:e2e` does not pick them up. Jest tests in `test/unit/` cover calculators, filters, renderers and utilities, and they run under the core `test:unit` command instead. New or flaky tests go to Playwright in `tests/e2e/walkontable/`, since a presence gate blocks a new `*.spec.js`.
Tests are organized by subsystem and rendering calls inside `it()` are awaited. Coverage should include frozen rows and columns across the 6 overlay types, viewport calculations with small, oversized and resized containers, horizontal and vertical scroll sync, and datasets of 10k+ rows filled with `forEach`. Listed mistakes include running these specs via `test:e2e` and clearing inline overflow through jQuery in this harness.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 68b5e97. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Walkontable Rendering Engine Testing loads about 875 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 409 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 409 words (~875 tokens).

Walkontable Rendering Engine Testing fits situations like: maintaining an existing Walkontable Jasmine spec; adding coverage for frozen overlays, viewport sizing or scroll sync; working out which command runs which Walkontable tests.
Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill walkontable-testing -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/walkontable-testing in handsontable/handsontable) into .claude/skills/walkontable-testing in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill walkontable-testing -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/walkontable-testing in handsontable/handsontable) into .agents/skills/walkontable-testing in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add handsontable/handsontable --skill walkontable-testing -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/walkontable-testing, .gemini/skills/walkontable-testing, .github/skills/walkontable-testing and .opencode/skills/walkontable-testing in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Walkontable Rendering Engine Testing needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm). Our summary lists: A checkout of the Handsontable repository.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Walkontable Rendering Engine Testing has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 875 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
