test-writing-disciplineKeeps tests honest: write them from the requirement, treat the code as the first suspect when a test is red, and refuse every way of faking a passing run.
Correct behavior is the goal, not a green run, and a test that asserts nothing or asserts the buggy output certifies the bug. The skill has the agent write each test from the requirement, ideally before the implementation, and when a test fails, check whether the code is wrong, the expectation mis-encoded the intent, or the requirement needs rereading. It sits on top of the Handsontable Playwright, legacy E2E and unit-testing skills.
A list of banned shortcuts covers deleting or loosening assertions, widening tolerances, `.skip` and `.only` variants, try/catch blocks that swallow failures, snapshots of buggy output and retries hiding a real intermittent failure. Weakening an assertion because of a race needs a filed ticket in the same pull request. A pass on retry or in isolation is not proof of determinism, so the agent repeats the spec across every theme and bundle leg. Bug fixes start with a failing test that fails for the right reason.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit fff66b1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Handsontable Test Writing Discipline loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 154 tokens; SKILL.md has 698 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 698 words (~1,314 tokens).
“Correct behavior is the goal, not green. A test that asserts nothing, or asserts the buggy output, certifies the bug. Fix a red test by correcting the code or tightening the test. These rules apply on top of handsontable-playwright-e2e, handsontable-e2e-testing…”

Handsontable Test Writing Discipline fits situations like: writing or reviewing tests for any Handsontable change; A test turns red during feature work and you must decide what is wrong; fixing a bug test-first with a reproduction that fails for the right reason; reviewing a pull request that loosens or skips an assertion.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Handsontable Test Writing Discipline needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx). Our summary lists: A checkout of the Handsontable repository.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Handsontable Test Writing Discipline has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
