handsontable-celltype-devExplains how to build or change a Handsontable cell type that bundles an editor, renderer and validator under one registered name, including registration steps and value rules.
A Handsontable cell type is an object that composes an editor, a renderer and a validator under a single name. It lives in its own folder under src/cellTypes with an index.ts that re-exports it. To register it, you call registerCellType from the registry module, export it from src/cellTypes/index.ts so the full bundle includes it, and add its name to the accepted values of the type option in metaSchema.ts.
The skill lists the rules for doing this safely, and it is written for contributors working inside the Handsontable source tree. Every component is optional, so a type can drop the validator, or the editor for a read-only type, and an explicit renderer, editor or validator set next to the type overrides the one the type supplies. Incoming values may be normalized only in valueSetter, because paste, setDataAtCell(), populateFromArray(), autofill and undo skip the editor. Anything exported from src/helpers becomes public API for good, so cell-type helpers belong in src/utils.

Handsontable Cell Type Development loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 47 tokens; SKILL.md has 561 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 561 words (~1,248 tokens).

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Handsontable Cell Type Development is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A checkout of the Handsontable source repository.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Handsontable Cell Type Development has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
