creating-visual-test-examplesExplains how to add or change the demo pages that Handsontable's visual regression suite photographs, including per-feature routes in the js demo and the shared grid.
The visual suite renders Vite demo apps for js, react-wrapper, vue3 and angular-wrapper, served on port 8082 by `visual-tests/scripts/run-tests.mjs`. The js demo is a single app with a Navigo router: the root route shows a shared multi-feature grid that must stay identical across frameworks, and every feature gets its own route ending in `-demo`, backed by a module under `src/demos`. The wrapper demos serve only the root, apart from a `/scenario-grid` route in the React and Angular wrappers. The docs examples tree belongs to a different skill.
Adding a feature takes four steps. Create a module that exports `init()` and builds the grid inside `#root`, reading per-route options from the URL with `getFromURL()` so one route can show several states. Register the route in `src/index.js` with the stylesheet and theme loading. Import from `handsontable/base` and register only the plugins and cell types the module needs, not the full bundle. Then write the visual spec under `visual-tests/tests/js-only`. A screenshot proves pixels only, so it supplements a Playwright assertion in `tests/e2e` and never replaces it.

Handsontable Visual Test Demos loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 84 tokens; SKILL.md has 489 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 489 words (~1,294 tokens).
“Covers the demo apps the visual suite (visual-tests/) renders: examples/next/visual-tests/{js,react-wrapper,vue3,angular-wrapper}/demo/, served on port 8082 by visual-tests/scripts/run-tests.mjs. The documentation examples in examples/next/docs/ are another tree, owned by the creating-docs-examples skill, and the visual suite does not serve it.”

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Handsontable Visual Test Demos is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The Handsontable repository checkout with its visual-tests suite.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Handsontable Visual Test Demos has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
