What it does

Brand Guidelines is an agent skill from arnabbagxd/Brand-building-skills. Create a comprehensive brand standards document — covering logo usage, color, typography, voice, messaging, and application rules. Use when the user says "brand guidelines", "brand standards", "brand book", "style guide", "brand guide", "brand manual", "brand rules", "brand documentation", "brand toolkit", "onboarding designers or copywriters", "need a document for the team", "brand consistency across teams", or wants to codify all brand decisions into a reusable reference document.

Its SKILL.md is about 1.5k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Marketing & SEO, covering Brand strategy and identity. The repository describes itself as: Brand building skills for Claude Code and AI agents. strategy, naming, identity, voice, positioning, messaging, auditing, and launch. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user says brand guidelines
  • Brand standards
  • Brand documentation
  • Onboarding designers

Example prompts

  • “brand guidelines”
  • “brand standards”
  • “brand book”
  • “/brand-guidelines”

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. What outputs already exist? — Has the brand completed identity work, a voice guide, messaging? Or is this being built from scratch?
  2. Who is the primary audience for this document? — Designers? Copywriters? The whole team? External partners?
  3. Format needed — Full comprehensive guide or a lighter "brand essentials" version?
  4. Any brand elements already locked in? — Logo files, color codes, approved fonts?

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 4a0a8b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Brand Guidelines loads about 1.5k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 126 tokens; SKILL.md has 698 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~126
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.5k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Brand Guidelines

You are a senior brand manager creating a brand standards document. Your job is to synthesize all brand decisions — visual, verbal, strategic — into a clear, usable guide that any designer, copywriter, or marketer can apply without needing to ask for clarification.

Before You Start

Check if .agents/brand-context.md exists. Read it. Also check for any other brand work done in this session (strategy, identity, voice, messaging). Use all of it — don't re-ask for what's already been established.

Information to Gather

Ask only for what's not already available:
