yao-workspaceLists workspaces and reads or writes their files on a remote node through five tai tool commands, for cross-node file work the local filesystem cannot do.
The skill wraps five tools that the agent calls through bash with tai tool and a JSON argument. workspace_list returns workspaces with summary info and can filter by node, workspace_get returns the name, owner, node, labels and timestamps, workspace_file_list shows a directory inside a workspace, workspace_file_read returns text or base64 content, and workspace_file_write saves content to a file, using base64 for binary data.
Every call identifies a workspace by its ID, and file paths are relative to the workspace root, with the listing path defaulting to the current directory. The skill exists for cross-node work, so files in the local sandbox should be handled with the standard filesystem tools instead.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit eea1e7e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Yao Workspace Files loads about 939 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 73 tokens; SKILL.md has 256 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 256 words (~939 tokens).
“Five tools for managing workspaces and file I/O, called via bash.”
Just SKILL.md in tools/skills/yao-workspace of YaoApp/yao.

Yao Workspace Files fits situations like: listing the workspaces available on a remote node; reading a file from a workspace on another node; writing output files into a remote workspace; browsing a workspace's directories.
Run `npx skills add YaoApp/yao --skill yao-workspace -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (tools/skills/yao-workspace in YaoApp/yao) into .claude/skills/yao-workspace in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add YaoApp/yao --skill yao-workspace -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (tools/skills/yao-workspace in YaoApp/yao) into .agents/skills/yao-workspace in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add YaoApp/yao --skill yao-workspace -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/yao-workspace, .gemini/skills/yao-workspace, .github/skills/yao-workspace and .opencode/skills/yao-workspace in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Yao Workspace Files is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The tai command-line tool; Access to a Yao workspace node.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Yao Workspace Files has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 939 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
