woocommerce-performanceFlags and fixes performance issues in WooCommerce PHP code: missing post cache priming, uncached option lookups in loops, and inefficient SQL query patterns.
This skill points the agent to three focused reference files for reviewing or writing performance-sensitive WooCommerce PHP code. The post cache priming guide covers `_prime_post_caches()` for code that loads collections of post-based objects, such as products or orders, or renders product lists with images, both as a pattern to apply when writing new code and as a check when reviewing existing code.
The options cache priming guide covers `wp_prime_option_caches()` for code that reads several non-autoloaded options in a loop or method, across static key lists, derivable key patterns and dynamically extracted key sets, while noting that already-autoloaded options need no priming. The SQL query patterns guide addresses redundant posts joins, a fan-out join on `wp_term_relationships`, N-query loops, OR conditions that break index merges, cross-product meta conditions, decoupling multi-fan joins, preferring WooCommerce's own lookup tables such as `wc_product_meta_lookup`, and eliminating full scans behind MIN and MAX aggregates.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b41b964. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
WooCommerce PHP Performance Patterns loads about 395 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 85 tokens; SKILL.md has 140 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 140 words (~395 tokens).
“Use when writing or reviewing code that loads collections of post-based objects (products, orders) or renders product lists with images. Covers _prime_post_caches() usage patterns — both as a generation guide (apply these patterns when writing new code) and a review…”

Flags and fixes performance issues in WooCommerce PHP code: missing post cache priming, uncached option lookups in loops, and inefficient SQL query patterns. The post cache priming guide covers `_prime_post_caches()` for code that loads collections of post-based objects, such as products or orders, or renders product lists with images, both as a pattern to apply when writing new code and as a check when reviewing existing code.
WooCommerce PHP Performance Patterns fits situations like: reviewing code that loads a list of WooCommerce products or orders; writing a loop that reads several WordPress options; writing or reviewing a SQL query that joins against term relationships or product meta; investigating a slow WooCommerce admin or storefront query.
Run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-performance -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.ai/skills/woocommerce-performance in woocommerce/woocommerce) into .claude/skills/woocommerce-performance in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-performance -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.ai/skills/woocommerce-performance in woocommerce/woocommerce) into .agents/skills/woocommerce-performance in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-performance -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/woocommerce-performance, .gemini/skills/woocommerce-performance, .github/skills/woocommerce-performance and .opencode/skills/woocommerce-performance in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: WooCommerce PHP Performance Patterns is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A WooCommerce or WordPress PHP codebase.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
WooCommerce PHP Performance Patterns has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 395 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
