woocommerce-dev-cycleWorkflow for WooCommerce development: run PHP and JavaScript tests, lint and fix code style on the current branch, and follow guides for i18n and markdown.
The skill points the agent to five topic files: running tests, code quality, PHP linting patterns, JavaScript and TypeScript i18n patterns for translatable strings and placeholders, and markdown linting. The standard loop is to change code, run the relevant tests with pnpm run test:php:env and a filter, check the branch's PHP with pnpm run lint:changes:branch:php, fix issues with pnpm run lint:php:fix, and commit only after the tests pass.
Its principles are to run tests after every change, use narrow filters during development, fix lint errors only in code from the current branch, and read test failures for the expected versus actual values. The test environment sets up WordPress and WooCommerce automatically.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6173f77. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pnpmFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pnpm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
WooCommerce Dev Cycle loads about 431 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 43 tokens; SKILL.md has 180 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 180 words (~431 tokens).
“This skill provides guidance for the WooCommerce development workflow, including running tests, code quality checks, and troubleshooting.”

WooCommerce Dev Cycle fits situations like: running PHP tests for a WooCommerce change; fixing PHP code style errors in changed files; writing translatable strings in JavaScript or TypeScript; linting markdown files in the repo.
Run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-dev-cycle -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.ai/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle in woocommerce/woocommerce) into .claude/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-dev-cycle -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.ai/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle in woocommerce/woocommerce) into .agents/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add woocommerce/woocommerce --skill woocommerce-dev-cycle -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle, .gemini/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle, .github/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle and .opencode/skills/woocommerce-dev-cycle in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, WooCommerce Dev Cycle needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pnpm). Our summary lists: A WooCommerce checkout with pnpm installed.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
WooCommerce Dev Cycle has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 431 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
