fire-card-to-epubConverts FIRE analysis cards or project-note JSON into a validated EPUB book with directory, chapter and keyword index cards and backlinks.
This skill bridges two workflows: fire-analysis-card, which turns material into Fact, Index, Relation and Encyclopedia cards, and project-note-json-to-epub, which packages structured notes into an EPUB. You write a manuscript JSON with title, creator, language and chunks, where each card has a stable code, title, body and keywords, starting from assets/fire-to-epub-tutorial.json, then run scripts/fire_cards_to_epub.py to build the EPUB and a download copy.
The generator writes the standard EPUB files plus a directory card, chapter pages and keyword index cards, and it derives the index from the keywords when none is given. The script validates XML, link targets, anchors, backlink counts, index links and file type, and delivery counts as acceptable only when errors is 0. The skill also describes publishing itself with the sample JSON and sample EPUB in assets so users can download them from GitHub.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 287d0f4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

FIRE Card to EPUB loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 106 tokens; SKILL.md has 320 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 320 words (~1,039 tokens).

Run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fire-card-to-epub -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/fire-card-to-epub in twhsi/skills) into .claude/skills/fire-card-to-epub in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fire-card-to-epub -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/fire-card-to-epub in twhsi/skills) into .agents/skills/fire-card-to-epub in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fire-card-to-epub -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/fire-card-to-epub, .gemini/skills/fire-card-to-epub, .github/skills/fire-card-to-epub and .opencode/skills/fire-card-to-epub in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, FIRE Card to EPUB needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3; A manuscript JSON that follows the sample schema.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
No licence was found for FIRE Card to EPUB or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with FIRE Card to EPUB: Youtube Processor (nicepkg/ai-workflow, 285 stars), Obsidian Markdown (KevRojo/Dulus, 167 stars), Paper and Web Source Analyzer (juliye2025/evil-read-arxiv, 1.7k stars) and Lecture Notes Master (LeoYeAI/openclaw-master-skills, 2.2k stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
