fantastical-calendarTurns scheduling requests into Fantastical events or reminders on macOS, previewing the parsed item in the app first and adding it only when you confirm.
The agent converts a natural-language request into one concise Fantastical sentence with the title, an exact date, a start time and a duration or end time, then passes it to `scripts/fantastical_parse.py`. Relative dates are turned into explicit dates first, using the user's timezone, and extra context such as links or prep notes goes into a `--notes` option rather than the title. It asks questions only when something like the date, time, calendar or event-versus-reminder choice is genuinely ambiguous.
The script defaults to preview mode, which opens Fantastical with the parsed item without adding it. An item is added right away, with `--add-immediately`, only when you explicitly ask to add or schedule it or have confirmed the parsed result, and `--dry-run` validates without opening anything. The script tries AppleScript `parse sentence` first and can fall back to the Fantastical URL scheme. Replies to Chinese requests stay in Chinese, and a reference file on the macOS integration is read only when debugging or adapting the script.

Fantastical Calendar loads about 688 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 68 tokens; SKILL.md has 297 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 297 words (~688 tokens).
“Use this skill to turn a user's natural-language scheduling request into a Fantastical event or reminder through the local macOS Fantastical app.”

Fantastical Calendar fits situations like: adding a meeting or appointment to Fantastical from a chat request; setting a reminder or task for a specific date and time; blocking focus time as part of a daily plan; previewing a parsed event before it is saved.
Run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fantastical-calendar -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/fantastical-calendar in twhsi/skills) into .claude/skills/fantastical-calendar in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fantastical-calendar -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/fantastical-calendar in twhsi/skills) into .agents/skills/fantastical-calendar in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add twhsi/skills --skill fantastical-calendar -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/fantastical-calendar, .gemini/skills/fantastical-calendar, .github/skills/fantastical-calendar and .opencode/skills/fantastical-calendar in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Fantastical Calendar needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: macOS with the Fantastical app installed; Python 3 to run `scripts/fantastical_parse.py`.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
No licence was found for Fantastical Calendar or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 688 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 346 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
