cmux-captureCaptures PNG or JPEG screenshots and MP4 or GIF clips of cmux windows from the command line, as visual evidence for pull requests and bug reports.
The cmux CLI can write a still image of a cmux window with cmux shot and a video clip with cmux record. Both capture only cmux's own windows through a path that needs no Screen Recording permission, and both work in release builds and in CI. The skill tells the agent which to use: a screenshot for static things such as a sheet, a menu or a color, and a recording for changes over time such as a drag, an animation or a spinner that should stop.
A region option takes the same rectangle in both commands, so a detail spotted in a clip can be captured as a still with identical coordinates. Recordings stop on their own at the max-seconds limit, which defaults to 15 and is capped at 120, only one can run at a time, and list and status commands show what is running. A note command draws captions into the clip, and the clip contains only cmux even if another app covers its window.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 1e82fa4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

cmux Screenshot and Recording loads about 992 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 73 tokens; SKILL.md has 530 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 530 words (~992 tokens).

Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-capture -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-capture in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .claude/skills/cmux-capture in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-capture -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-capture in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .agents/skills/cmux-capture in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-capture -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cmux-capture, .gemini/skills/cmux-capture, .github/skills/cmux-capture and .opencode/skills/cmux-capture in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: cmux Screenshot and Recording is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The cmux terminal app with its cmux command-line tool.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
cmux Screenshot and Recording has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 992 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.7k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
