cmux-browserOpens, inspects, and drives a browser surface through the cmux CLI without stealing the user's focus, always targeting an explicit surface handle.
This skill checks the actual cmux browser --help and cmux --version contract before giving an exact command, since there are two different command shapes: surface-creating commands like open or new that need no handle, and every surface-bound navigation, inspection, or interaction command, which must pass a --surface handle explicitly rather than guessing an index.
It finds an existing surface without changing focus using read-only identify and tree commands, which never select a workspace, pane, or browser and never assume the visually focused surface is the one the user means. A filtered all-window tree returns window, workspace, pane, and surface references that can target a browser in a different workspace directly.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit bbb3633. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Ships script files (Shell), which the agent can run.

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
cmux Browser Surface Control loads about 2.7k tokens when it runs, and up to ~8.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 47 tokens; SKILL.md has 891 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 891 words (~2,741 tokens).

vercel-labs/agent-browser
Automates Electron desktop apps such as VS Code, Slack or Discord by connecting agent-browser to their Chrome DevTools Protocol port.
vercel/next.js
Verify Next.js runtime behavior after editing app code. An agent skill from vercel/next.js.
Skyvern-AI/skyvern
Picks the right Skyvern CLI command for a web task, from quick yes/no checks to reusable multi-page workflows, instead of falling back to plain page fetching.
zenstory-ai/oh-story-claudecode
Drives a Chrome window over the DevTools Protocol with the agent-browser CLI, so the agent can reuse your logged-in sessions, read pages and pull tokens.
manaflow-ai/cmux

cmux Browser Surface Control fits situations like: opening a site and extracting data without stealing focus; finding an existing browser surface to reuse instead of opening a new one; automating a form fill or page inspection through cmux.
Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-browser -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-browser in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .claude/skills/cmux-browser in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-browser -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cmux-browser in manaflow-ai/cmux) into .agents/skills/cmux-browser in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add manaflow-ai/cmux --skill cmux-browser -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cmux-browser, .gemini/skills/cmux-browser, .github/skills/cmux-browser and .opencode/skills/cmux-browser in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, cmux Browser Surface Control needs a shell for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (jq and npx). Our summary lists: cmux CLI installed.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
cmux Browser Surface Control has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 11k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 5.7k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
