What it does
The skill has two modes. One takes a single spoken line, alone or in a batch, and makes a 5-second B-roll clip. The other is driven by a beat map and makes a full explainer of 45 to 60 seconds with TTS narration, content-aware speed changes, subtitles and assembly. The look is black-and-white halftone cut-outs on flat color fields, animated as stop-motion pieces appearing one by one on an empty field. It shares its visual system with a sister cover skill and avoids copying any brand or living artist, translating requests for a named channel's style into describable collage mechanics.
The default chain has three gates in rising order of cost: design the visual metaphor and wait for approval, generate final still frames and wait again, then call a video model for first-frame to last-frame assembly animation and run QA. In batches only approved items move on, and you can authorize a full automatic run, though QA notes are still written. Each run starts with scripts/check_setup.sh. Stills, video and narration all use Gemini models on one GEMINI_API_KEY, billed per use, with video as the main cost, so only failed jobs are re-run and each Gate 3 records a cost line.
Visual rules call for one clear metaphor per line with no more than 4 key objects, a flat background color chosen by meaning, paper pieces with cream outlines, soft shadows and grain, and no subtitles, logos or watermarks. The default delivery is a silent 9:16 MP4 of 5 seconds at 720×1280 and 24fps. The skill is not for precise layer and timeline control, prompt-only requests, live-action talking heads or product shoots.
