What it does

Linkedin Growth is an agent skill from hanamizuki/solopreneur. LinkedIn organic growth consultant — diagnoses profiles, discusses goals, and co-creates a personalized 90-day growth plan. Backed by a research library covering the latest algorithm mechanics, content strategy, engagement tactics, and real case studies (updated 2026-04). Use when the user mentions LinkedIn growth, LinkedIn strategy, LinkedIn profile optimization, LinkedIn content plan, LinkedIn algorithm, building an audience on LinkedIn, getting more LinkedIn impressions/followers/leads, or wants to diagnose…

Its SKILL.md is about 3.7k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 10 other files, including reference files (for example `references/algorithm.md`, `references/audience-strategy.md` and `references/case-studies.md`).

It sits in Writing & Content, covering Content strategy, Resume and CV writing and Go-to-market strategy. It works with LinkedIn. The repository describes itself as: Skills and agents for solopreneurs — ship, review, debug, and think through problems with AI. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user mentions LinkedIn growth
  • LinkedIn strategy
  • LinkedIn profile optimization
  • LinkedIn content plan

Example prompts

  • “/linkedin-growth”

Workflow steps

8 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Access the profile
  2. Run the diagnosis checklist
  3. Deliver the diagnosis
  4. Understand the user's context
  5. Synthesize and confirm
  6. Read relevant references
  7. Generate the plan
  8. Walk through the plan

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit f43f001. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Linkedin Growth loads about 3.7k tokens when it runs, and up to ~27k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 168 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,542 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~168
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~3.7k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~27k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

LinkedIn organic growth consultant — diagnoses profiles, discusses goals, and co-creates a personalized 90-day growth plan. Backed by a research library covering the latest algorithm mechanics, content strategy, engagement tactics, and real case studies (updated 2026-04). Use when the user mentions LinkedIn growth, LinkedIn strategy, LinkedIn profile optimization, LinkedIn content plan, LinkedIn algorithm, building an audience on LinkedIn, getting more LinkedIn impressions/followers/leads, or wants to diagnose their LinkedIn presence. Also trigger when the user shares a LinkedIn profile URL or asks how to grow on any professional social platform.

LinkedIn Growth Consultant

An interactive skill that helps users grow their LinkedIn presence through evidence-based strategies. Three operating modes, plus a research update mode.

Reference Library

Read the relevant reference file when you need deep knowledge for that topic. Do not load all references at once — pick the one that matches the current conversation stage.

FileWhen to read
references/algorithm.mdUser asks about how LinkedIn works, why reach dropped, or you need to explain the "why" behind a recommendation
references/profile-optimization.mdDuring profile diagnosis or when advising on headline/about/banner/featured
references/content-strategy.mdWhen planning content pillars, post formats, hooks, or templates
references/engagement-engine.mdWhen discussing daily engagement habits, commenting strategy, or connection growth
references/audience-strategy.mdWhen defining target audience, ICP, or the three-audience framework
references/tools-and-tracking.mdWhen setting up KPIs, dashboards, or recommending tools
references/dm-conversion.mdWhen discussing DM strategy, lead conversion, CTA design, buying signals, InMail vs DM, or platform safety limits
references/case-studies.mdWhen user wants proof, examples, or inspiration from real creators
references/industry-playbooks.mdWhen advising users in specific roles (SaaS founder, consultant, job seeker, engineer, recruiter) or when the user is in Taiwan/Asia market

GTM Integration

Before starting goal setting or plan generation, check if the project has a completed GTM plan by looking for docs/gtm/gtm-state.yaml:

  1. If the file exists and status: complete, read these GTM docs to pre-fill context (brand positioning, target audience, messaging, channels):

    • docs/gtm/01-brand-strategy.md — extract brand voice, positioning
    • docs/gtm/02-market-landscape.md — extract competitor info, market context
    • docs/gtm/03-messaging-framework.md — extract key messages, value props
    • docs/gtm/04-channel-playbook.md — check if LinkedIn is already a planned channel
  2. If the file exists but status is NOT complete (e.g., in_progress, interviewing): still read whatever GTM docs exist — they may contain partial but useful context (audience definition, brand voice). Use what's available and note gaps that need filling during goal setting.

  3. Use this context to:

    • Pre-fill the ICP and audience definition in goal setting
    • Align content pillars with the messaging framework
    • Reference brand voice when suggesting headline/about rewrites
    • Skip redundant questions the user already answered in GTM
  4. If no GTM plan exists, proceed normally with the goal setting interview. Optionally mention: "I notice you don't have a GTM plan yet. If you'd like to create a broader go-to-market strategy first, you can use /gtm."

Mode 1: Profile Diagnosis

Trigger: user shares a LinkedIn URL, screenshot, or asks "diagnose my LinkedIn."

Step 1 — Access the profile

The goal is to see the profile content. LinkedIn aggressively blocks unauthenticated and headless access, so prioritize methods that work:

  1. Screenshot (most reliable): ask the user to take screenshots of their profile (headline area, About section, Featured section, recent posts).
  2. Manual paste: ask the user to copy-paste their Headline, About, and the text of their 3 most recent posts.
  3. Browser tools (try if available, but expect failure): check what browsing skills or MCP tools are available in this environment (e.g. /browse, /gstack, mcp__chrome-devtools__*, or any other browser-capable tool). Try to open the LinkedIn URL — but if it hits an auth wall or CAPTCHA, fall back to screenshot/paste immediately.
  4. Authenticated browser: if the user has connected their real browser (e.g. Chrome DevTools MCP), try through that — authenticated sessions have the best chance of working.
Step 2 — Run the diagnosis checklist

Read references/profile-optimization.md for the full checklist. Evaluate:

  1. Headline — Does it contain: role + audience + problem solved + result? Or is it a vague title soup ("CEO | Speaker | 3x Founder")?
  2. About section — Do the first 3 lines hook the reader with a value proposition? Is there a clear CTA at the end?
  3. Profile completeness — Is it close to All-Star? (photo, location, industry, education, position, skills, summary)
  4. Banner — Does it reinforce the value proposition or is it a stock image?
  5. Featured section — Does it contain proof (case studies, lead magnets, articles) or is it empty/random?
  6. Creator Mode — Enabled? Are the hashtags relevant and specific?
  7. Recent posts (if accessible) — Hook quality, format mix, engagement signals (comments vs. likes ratio, saves, reposts)
  8. Topic consistency — Do the last 10-20 posts stay within 2-3 content pillars, or scatter across random topics?
  9. CTA / conversion path — Is there a clear next step for visitors? (custom button, newsletter, calendar link, lead magnet)
  10. Engagement behavior — Does the user actively comment on others' posts? Do they reply to their own comments within the first hour?
Step 3 — Deliver the diagnosis

Present findings as a structured report:

## LinkedIn Profile Diagnosis

### Score: X/20

### Strengths
- ...

### Priority Fixes (do these first)
1. ...
2. ...
3. ...

### Secondary Improvements
- ...

### Recommended A/B Tests
- ...

After diagnosis, naturally transition to goal setting (Mode 2).

Mode 2: Goal Setting & Discussion

Trigger: after diagnosis, or when user says "I want to grow on LinkedIn" or asks about LinkedIn strategy without providing a profile.

Step 1 — Understand the user's context

Ask these questions one at a time (like office hours — don't dump all at once):

  1. What's your role and industry? "What do you do, and in what industry? This helps me tailor everything to your specific context."

  2. Why LinkedIn? Present options and allow custom input:

    • A) Lead generation — attract inbound leads and sales conversations
    • B) Personal brand / thought leadership — become a recognized voice
    • C) Job search / career advancement — get noticed by recruiters
    • D) Recruiting — attract talent to your company
    • E) Community building — build a professional community
    • F) Something else — tell me your specific goal
  3. Who is your ideal audience? (job titles, industries, company sizes, geographies — be as specific as possible)

  4. What's your current LinkedIn activity level?

    • How often do you post? (never / occasionally / weekly / daily)
    • Do you comment on others' posts?
    • How many followers/connections do you have now?
  5. What does success look like in 90 days? Offer calibration anchors based on their goal:

    • Lead gen: "X qualified DMs per month"
    • Brand: "X followers + Y avg. impressions per post"
    • Job search: "X recruiter conversations per month"
    • Let them define their own metrics too
  6. What's your time budget?

    • Minimal (2-3 hrs/week): 2 posts + 10 min daily engagement
    • Moderate (4-6 hrs/week): 3 posts + 20 min daily engagement
    • All-in (7+ hrs/week): 4-5 posts + 30 min daily engagement + newsletter
Show full SKILL.md (558 more words)Show less
Step 2 — Synthesize and confirm

Summarize what you heard back to the user in a concise "strategic brief":

  • Their positioning (who they are + who they serve)
  • Primary goal + success metrics
  • Time budget → recommended cadence
  • Content pillars (suggest 3 based on their expertise + audience needs)

Ask: "Does this capture it? Anything to adjust before I build the plan?"

Mode 3: 90-Day Growth Plan Generation

Trigger: after goal setting is confirmed, or user says "create the plan."

Step 1 — Read relevant references

Based on the user's goal and time budget, read:

  • references/content-strategy.md (always)
  • references/engagement-engine.md (always)
  • references/audience-strategy.md (if audience isn't clear yet)
  • references/tools-and-tracking.md (for KPI setup)
Step 2 — Generate the plan

Write the plan to docs/gtm/linkedin-growth.md relative to the current working directory. If the current directory doesn't seem like a project (e.g., it's ~/.claude or a home directory), ask the user where they'd like the plan saved. Create the directory if it doesn't exist.

The plan should include:

markdown
# LinkedIn Growth Plan — [User Name / Handle]

> Generated: [date] | Goal: [primary goal] | Time budget: [X hrs/week]

## Strategic Positioning
- Who you are:
- Who you serve:
- Core value proposition:
- 3 Content Pillars:
  1. [Pillar] — [why this matters to your audience]
  2. [Pillar] — [why this matters to your audience]
  3. [Pillar] — [why this matters to your audience]

## Profile Optimization Checklist
- [ ] Headline rewrite: "[suggested headline]"
- [ ] About section rewrite (draft below)
- [ ] Banner update
- [ ] Featured section: [what to add]
- [ ] Creator Mode: enable with hashtags [#x, #y, #z]
- [ ] CTA setup: [newsletter / calendar link / lead magnet]

## Weekly Rhythm
| Day | Action | Time |
|-----|--------|------|
| Sun | Batch-write 3 posts for the week | 90 min |
| Mon | Post #1 (format: ...) + 60-min engagement window | 30 min |
| Tue | Comment on 10 target accounts | 15 min |
| Wed | Post #2 (format: ...) + 60-min engagement window | 30 min |
| Thu | Comment on 10 target accounts | 15 min |
| Fri | Post #3 (format: ...) + 60-min engagement window | 30 min |
| Sat | Review weekly analytics, note top performer | 15 min |

## Engagement Target List Template
| Account | Industry | Why | Last commented | Notes |
|---------|----------|-----|---------------|-------|
| | | | | |
Step 3 — Walk through the plan

After writing the file, highlight the 3 most important first-week actions. Ask if anything needs adjustment. Offer to draft their first post or rewrite their headline/about section.

Mode 4: Research Update

Trigger: user provides new LinkedIn research, articles, data, or says "update the LinkedIn knowledge base."

Process
  1. Read the new material the user provides.
  2. Identify which reference file(s) the new information belongs to.
  3. Cross-reference check (mandatory before writing):
    • Extract the key claims from the new material (specific numbers, tactics, recommendations).
    • For each claim, grep across ALL reference files for related keywords to find existing statements on the same topic.
    • If an existing statement conflicts with the new claim, decide:
      • New source is more authoritative/recent → update the old statement, remove the outdated version. Don't leave both.
      • Both sources are credible but disagree → add a > DISPUTED inline block at the relevant location in each affected file, listing both positions with dates and sources.
      • Can't determine which is correct → add > DISPUTED and recommend the user A/B test on their own account.
  4. Read the target reference files and integrate:
    • Update existing sections with new data/insights
    • Add new sections if the material covers something not yet documented
    • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of each modified file
  5. Summarize what changed: "Updated X sections in Y files. Key new insights: ..." If any DISPUTED markers were added or resolved, list them explicitly.

Conversation Flow

The skill should feel like a consulting session, not a quiz. Adapt to wherever the user enters:

  • User shares LinkedIn URL → Mode 1 (Diagnosis) → Mode 2 → Mode 3
  • User asks "how do I grow on LinkedIn?" → Mode 2 (Goal Setting) → Mode 3
  • User says "diagnose my profile" without URL → ask for URL/screenshot → Mode 1
  • User provides new research → Mode 4 (Research Update)
  • User already has a plan and wants to iterate → read the existing plan file at docs/gtm/linkedin-growth.md, then:
    1. Ask: "What's working? What's not? Any metrics to share?"
    2. Compare their experience against the plan's KPI targets
    3. Identify which content pillars / engagement tactics performed best
    4. Update the plan: adjust cadence, swap underperforming tactics, add new content pillars based on what resonated
    5. Write the updated plan back to the same file

Always ground recommendations in the reference library. When giving advice, briefly explain the "why" (algorithm signal, case study evidence) so the user understands the mechanism, not just the tactic.
