wos-exportExports Web of Science records into Zotero directly, or to RIS, BibTeX, Excel and plain-text files through the site's export menu.
Two paths are offered. The preferred one gathers paper metadata already in the conversation from earlier WoS search or detail steps, turns it into JSON and pipes it to scripts/push_to_zotero.py, which saves the items into the collection currently selected in Zotero. Re-running is idempotent, so saving the same paper twice does not create duplicates.
The script reports OK: Saved, OK: Already saved, or Error: Zotero not running, in which case you are asked to start the Zotero desktop app. Running it with --list shows the available collections, and you change the target by selecting another folder in Zotero before exporting.
When Zotero is not available, the fallback drives the WoS export menu in the browser (the repository describes Chrome DevTools MCP) from a results page or a full-record page. It can choose RIS, BibTeX, Excel, plain text or Fast 5000, which exports up to 5000 records with basic fields. On a full-record page only that one record is exported.

Web of Science Export loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 16 tokens; SKILL.md has 387 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 387 words (~1,000 tokens).
“Export WoS paper records. Two modes: direct Zotero push (preferred) or file export via UI.”

Web of Science Export fits situations like: saving a set of Web of Science search results into a Zotero library; exporting selected records as a BibTeX file for a LaTeX project; getting a RIS or Excel export of a result list when Zotero is not installed.
Run `npx skills add cookjohn/wos-skills --skill wos-export -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/wos-export in cookjohn/wos-skills) into .claude/skills/wos-export in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add cookjohn/wos-skills --skill wos-export -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/wos-export in cookjohn/wos-skills) into .agents/skills/wos-export in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add cookjohn/wos-skills --skill wos-export -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/wos-export, .gemini/skills/wos-export, .github/skills/wos-export and .opencode/skills/wos-export in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Web of Science Export needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python). Our summary lists: Python to run push_to_zotero.py; The Zotero desktop app running, for the direct push; A browser on a Web of Science results or full-record page for file export; Chrome DevTools MCP for the browser export path.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
No licence was found for Web of Science Export or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
