source-postgres-e2e-cdc-testsReproduces PostgreSQL logical-decoding CDC behavior for Airbyte's source-postgres connector on a local backend, with CDC fixtures, a catalog and smoke case scripts.
This harness builds on the shared `db-harness-lib` and the generic source-postgres test skill, which starts a PostgreSQL 16 backend and runs the connector. The CDC skill adds the logical-decoding config, a CDC catalog, SQL fixtures and case scripts. That backend already starts with the WAL and replication-slot settings CDC needs, so no second backend or per-run server configuration is added. The fixture works in the shared `test_db` database and resets the `users` table, publication and replication slot there.
It is used to reproduce a CDC-mode bug locally, verify a fix with a published connector image or a locally built dev version, run the initial-load and incremental-replay smoke cases, or author a new repro with an idempotent SQL fixture and a case script that calls the generic `scripts/run.sh`. Cases keep the backend running between runs: start it once, run the cases, then tear it down. It needs no cloud admin credentials and must never be pointed at a customer connection or Airbyte Cloud.

Postgres CDC E2E Test Harness loads about 1.9k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 56 tokens; SKILL.md has 773 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 773 words (~1,950 tokens).

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Postgres CDC E2E Test Harness needs a shell for the scripts in its folder. Our summary lists: Docker, `uv` and `jq`; A clone of airbytehq/airbyte; The source-postgres backend container started by the generic skill.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Postgres CDC E2E Test Harness has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.9k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
