source-mysql-e2e-cdc-testsReproduces MySQL binlog change-data-capture behavior for the Airbyte source-mysql connector on a local MySQL backend, with fixtures, a catalog and smoke cases.
This skill adds change-data-capture testing on top of the generic source-mysql end-to-end skill, which starts a local MySQL 8.0 backend and runs the connector, and the shared db-harness-lib orchestration. It supplies the binlog CDC config, a CDC catalog, SQL fixtures and case scripts. CDC for MySQL is binlog-based and server-wide, and the generic backend already starts with row binlogging, full row images and GTIDs, so nothing is enabled per table and no second backend is started.
Typical uses are reproducing a CDC-mode bug locally, checking a fix with a published connector image or a locally built dev version, running the initial-load and incremental-replay smoke cases, and writing a new idempotent repro. Cases reuse one backend kept alive with --keep-backend. The init SQL drops and recreates the cdc_test database each time it is applied, which is why the incremental-replay case skips fixtures in its second phase. The harness is for local use only and is never to be run against a customer connection or Airbyte Cloud.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 8dbd366. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships script files (Shell), which the agent can run.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

Source MySQL CDC Test Harness loads about 1.8k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 50 tokens; SKILL.md has 709 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 709 words (~1,814 tokens).

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Source MySQL CDC Test Harness needs a shell for the scripts in its folder. Our summary lists: Docker, uv and jq; A clone of airbytehq/airbyte; The source-mysql-db-backend container from the generic skill's start-backend.sh script.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Source MySQL CDC Test Harness has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.8k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
