Session Handoff Document
thedotmack/claude-mem
Writes a HANDOFF.md capturing goal, state, files, failed attempts and next steps so a fresh agent session can continue exactly where this one stopped.
Prepare a precise handoff for an agent or developer implementing a feature, continuing a task or reviewing a finished change.

Feature Handoff is an agent skill from witnesstodark/mr-mak-workspace. Prepare a precise handoff for an agent or developer implementing a feature, continuing a task or reviewing a finished change.
Its SKILL.md is about 490 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
The repository describes itself as: A local desktop workspace for Codex and Claude Code, with project reports, creative skills and optional voice. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ee27994. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Feature Handoff loads about 488 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 35 tokens; SKILL.md has 261 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from witnesstodark/mr-mak-workspace at commit ee27994, republished under its MIT licence (© witnesstodark). 261 words, ~488 tokens.
.claude/skills/feature-handoff/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Read the current project files and relevant terminal or report before writing a handoff. Use the evidence currently on disk, not an earlier progress message.
Include the intended behavior, affected files, useful starting points, exact skill paths, known constraints and acceptance checks. For a continuation, add what is already implemented, what remains, current test results and any running process that must not be interrupted. Keep secrets and login material out.
Make ownership clear when several agents are working. Identify files that must not be overwritten. Carry forward accepted choices and unresolved questions. Do not assign the user work that the receiving agent can complete itself.
Separate the source baseline, selected proposal, implemented behavior, agent verification and owner acceptance. A selected mockup is not a shipped feature. For assets, include stable IDs, relevant hashes, local dependency paths and actual event markers. Name the receiving scene or system, and describe how to check it at normal gameplay speed. Leave missing values unresolved rather than turning an example's timing, project names or design taste into requirements.
State who owns shared files and the expected base revision. Re-read shared state before applying the handoff; reconcile changed inputs instead of overwriting another agent's work. Keep the current specification current and put chronological implementation details in a separate log.
For a completed feature, lead with its practical result, then summarize the
change and verification. Link the relevant report or artifacts. Distinguish a
prepared build from an installed update and a submitted job from a reviewed
asset. Read workspace-authoring when the handoff is a Workspace deliverable.

About 488 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
