write-script-bunGuides your agent through writing Windmill scripts in TypeScript on Bun, then previewing, regenerating metadata and deploying them with the wmill CLI.
Bun is treated as the standard TypeScript runtime for Windmill scripts, with Deno kept for scripts that specifically depend on it. The skill tells the agent to place scripts in a folder and, once the code is written, to explain which wmill command fits what you want to do next.
The key rule is choosing by intent. Trying a local edit uses wmill script preview, which executes the file without deploying. The wmill script run command is only for the version already deployed in the workspace, and a deploy through git push or wmill sync push happens only when you ask for one. After an import is added or removed, or the arguments of main change, the agent runs wmill generate-metadata so the .script.yaml schema, the .lock file and wmill-lock.yaml match the code.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit eab3dd5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Windmill Bun Script Writer loads about 9.7k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 45 tokens; SKILL.md has 4,823 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 4,823 words (~9,730 tokens).

Windmill Bun Script Writer fits situations like: writing a new TypeScript script for a Windmill workspace; testing a local script edit without deploying it; refreshing the lock file and input schema after changing imports or arguments.
Run `npx skills add windmill-labs/windmill --skill write-script-bun -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (system_prompts/auto-generated/skills/write-script-bun in windmill-labs/windmill) into .claude/skills/write-script-bun in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add windmill-labs/windmill --skill write-script-bun -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (system_prompts/auto-generated/skills/write-script-bun in windmill-labs/windmill) into .agents/skills/write-script-bun in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add windmill-labs/windmill --skill write-script-bun -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/write-script-bun, .gemini/skills/write-script-bun, .github/skills/write-script-bun and .opencode/skills/write-script-bun in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Windmill Bun Script Writer needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git) and credentials named WM_TOKEN. Our summary lists: The wmill CLI; A Windmill workspace.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: windmill.dev. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Windmill Bun Script Writer has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 9.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 39k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
