ascii-artProduces ASCII text banners, cowsay-style speech bubbles and bordered boxes for terminal scripts, READMEs and CLI splash screens with pyfiglet, cowsay and boxes.
The agent installs the Python packages pyfiglet and cowsay with pip and uses them to render large ASCII lettering, sample different pyfiglet fonts and print cowsay messages. It also carries hand-written helpers for a custom speech bubble and for boxes with single or double line borders, plus ANSI color codes for tinting banner output.
A short list of cautions comes with it: block fonts get very wide, so text should stay under 12 characters; ANSI colors may not render in every terminal; the cowsay package is a Python port separate from the Unix binary; and some fonts only exist after installing pyfiglet with its all extra. Worked examples map requests such as a startup banner or a boxed summary to the matching step.

ASCII Art Banners loads about 985 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 17 tokens; SKILL.md has 235 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

ASCII Art Banners fits situations like: adding a stylized banner to a terminal script or README; making a cowsay-style message for a fun status line; drawing a decorative box around summary output; creating a splash screen or header for a CLI tool.
Run `npx skills add taracodlabs/aiden --skill ascii-art -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/ascii-art in taracodlabs/aiden) into .claude/skills/ascii-art in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add taracodlabs/aiden --skill ascii-art -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/ascii-art in taracodlabs/aiden) into .agents/skills/ascii-art in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add taracodlabs/aiden --skill ascii-art -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/ascii-art, .gemini/skills/ascii-art, .github/skills/ascii-art and .opencode/skills/ascii-art in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, ASCII Art Banners needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pip). Our summary lists: Python with pip, to install pyfiglet and cowsay.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use pip, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
ASCII Art Banners is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 985 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
