rn-motion-replicaAnalyzes a reference video's layout, motion and timing over a chosen time range, then builds an original animated replica with new copy and assets plus a final video QC.
The agent works only from a public link or local file you are authorized to use, never bypassing private-account controls, DRM or paywalls, and keeps the source URL, downloaded media and transcript in a private working directory rather than shipping them inside the finished project. After locking the exact time range and requested effects, it downloads the reference with a trusted downloader or yt-dlp and verifies it with ffprobe, requiring a playable stream, known duration, and known dimensions and frame rate before proceeding.
A bundled analyzer script generates contact sheets and scene frames over the chosen range, which the agent inspects to record five layers of evidence: visual tokens like color and type, geometry such as margins and card sizes, motion primitives like slide or path draw, the sequence of what enters and replaces what, and the timing of each transition. Those observations become a visual contract file and a timestamped storyboard before any animation is authored, and the output is an original adaptation with new copy and generic or original assets, not a pixel-exact copy; a related QC skill checks reusable project templates against a checklist.

Motion Replica Builder loads about 1.7k tokens when it runs, and up to ~3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 99 tokens; SKILL.md has 809 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 809 words (~1,699 tokens).
“Turn a reference clip into an original motion study that preserves the visual grammar and timing while replacing the source's copy, presenter, footage, and unique assets.”

Motion Replica Builder fits situations like: recreating the motion and layout style of a reference video as an original piece; breaking down the first N seconds of a video into its visual and timing components; building a reusable animated template from a reference clip's motion grammar.
Run `npx skills add Pluviobyte/rnskill --skill rn-motion-replica -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/rn-motion-replica in Pluviobyte/rnskill) into .claude/skills/rn-motion-replica in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add Pluviobyte/rnskill --skill rn-motion-replica -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/rn-motion-replica in Pluviobyte/rnskill) into .agents/skills/rn-motion-replica in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Pluviobyte/rnskill --skill rn-motion-replica -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/rn-motion-replica, .gemini/skills/rn-motion-replica, .github/skills/rn-motion-replica and .opencode/skills/rn-motion-replica in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Motion Replica Builder needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: yt-dlp or a trusted downloader, and ffprobe, for acquiring and verifying the reference video; Python to run the bundled analyzer script.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Motion Replica Builder has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.3k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
