Entroly Context Control
juyterman1000/entroly
Surgically select, compress, and recover codebase context using Entroly's MCP tools.
Routes large command, file, API and browser output through context-mode tools so only the needed result enters the agent's context, instead of dumping it via Bash.

context-modeRoutes large command, file, API and browser output through context-mode tools so only the needed result enters the agent's context, instead of dumping it via Bash.
A default rule governs every command: use the ctx_execute or ctx_execute_file tools unless the command is guaranteed to print little. Bash is reserved for a short whitelist of file mutations, git writes, navigation, process control, package installs and simple echo output, and everything that reads, queries, fetches, lists, tests, builds, diffs or calls an external service goes through context-mode, including every CLI such as gh, aws and kubectl. When in doubt, use context-mode.
A decision tree and a situation table map jobs to tools: ctx_execute for API calls, CLIs, tests and git history; ctx_execute_file for logs, CSV, JSON, YAML, XML and source files to analyze; ctx_fetch_and_index for web documentation; and for Playwright snapshots, saving to a file and then indexing and searching it or extracting in the sandbox. Output from any MCP tool that may run past 20 lines is covered too.
Reference notes give code patterns for JavaScript, Python and shell, plus an anti-patterns list, and subagent routing is handled by a PreToolUse hook.
8 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2a7a92a. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitnpmghkubectlpipawsgodockercurlFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
raw.githubusercontent.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Context Mode Output Sandbox loads about 4.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~13k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 240 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,306 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,306 words (~4,090 tokens).
“Default to context-mode for ALL commands. Only use Bash for guaranteed-small-output operations.”

Context Mode Output Sandbox fits situations like: analyzing a large log file without printing it into the conversation; summarizing test, build or coverage output; inspecting a Playwright page snapshot or accessibility tree; fetching and indexing documentation for later search.
Run `npx skills add mksglu/context-mode --skill context-mode -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/context-mode in mksglu/context-mode) into .claude/skills/context-mode in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add mksglu/context-mode --skill context-mode -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/context-mode in mksglu/context-mode) into .agents/skills/context-mode in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add mksglu/context-mode --skill context-mode -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/context-mode, .gemini/skills/context-mode, .github/skills/context-mode and .opencode/skills/context-mode in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Context Mode Output Sandbox needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git, npm, gh, kubectl, pip and aws). Our summary lists: The context-mode MCP tools, such as ctx_execute and ctx_execute_file.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: raw.githubusercontent.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Context Mode Output Sandbox has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 4.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 16k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 9k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
