self-liberationHelps you separate other people's expectations from real commitments, handle anger and build the financial cushion that lets you say no.
Drawn from the happiness chapter of Naval Ravikant's almanack, the skill redefines freedom as being free from forced reactions. Three ideas carry it: expectations are not agreements, so only contracts, debts and promises bind you; anger is a penalty you impose on yourself and a precursor to violence; and the freedom to walk away from a job comes from living below your income. Time is treated as the firmest boundary. The skill text is written in Chinese.
Four steps: list the shoulds that weigh on you and mark each as an agreement to keep or an expectation to release; tell someone that one pure expectation is theirs, not your commitment, or simply stop accommodating it; when anger rises, pause and write what you are angry about and whether it is worth the cost; and compare expenses with income, making a three-month plan to cut spending if they are close to equal. It excludes real contract or debt obligations and notes that people without a financial buffer may risk their jobs by just saying no.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a28de55. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Self-Liberation loads about 663 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 52 tokens; SKILL.md has 153 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Self-Liberation fits situations like: feeling weighed down by what family, a boss or society expects of you; struggling with frequent anger or irritation; finding it hard to say no without worrying about offending people; wanting to leave a job but lacking a financial cushion.
Run `npx skills add kangarooking/cangjie-skill --skill self-liberation -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (books/naval-almanack-skill/self-liberation in kangarooking/cangjie-skill) into .claude/skills/self-liberation in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add kangarooking/cangjie-skill --skill self-liberation -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (books/naval-almanack-skill/self-liberation in kangarooking/cangjie-skill) into .agents/skills/self-liberation in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add kangarooking/cangjie-skill --skill self-liberation -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/self-liberation, .gemini/skills/self-liberation, .github/skills/self-liberation and .opencode/skills/self-liberation in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Self-Liberation is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Self-Liberation is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 663 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
