academic-research-suiteA router skill that sends academic work such as literature reviews, drafting, citation checks, peer review and revision to the right workflow in the ARS suite.
This is a Codex adapter for the ARS suite, with the vendored ARS content under `ars/`. Its first rule is not to load the whole suite: the agent selects one workflow, reads that workflow's `WORKFLOW.md`, and loads only the agent, reference, template or shared files needed for your current stage. Internal entry files are named `WORKFLOW.md` rather than `SKILL.md` so Codex registers just this root router.
Routing follows a shared core: a `[direct-mode]` prefix on the first message skips cross-phase clarification, and explicit aliases such as `/ars-lit-review`, `/ars-citation-check`, `/ars-abstract`, `/ars-revision`, `/ars-reviewer` and `/ars-full` go straight to their workflow. Topics include deep research, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, study screening with `sr-screener`, drafts, integrity checks and peer review, with trigger phrases in English, Korean, Spanish and Chinese. Tool access is limited to reading, searching, web search and Python or `uv` commands.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 52228e8. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadGlobGrepWebSearchBash(uv *)Bash(python *)Bash(python3 *)From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
claudeFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
ARS_OPENAI_COMPAT_API_KEYS2_API_KEYOPENALEX_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Academic Research Suite for Codex loads about 12k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 234 tokens; SKILL.md has 5,402 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 5,402 words (~11,745 tokens).

Run `npx skills add Imbad0202/academic-research-skills-codex --skill academic-research-suite -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/academic-research-suite in Imbad0202/academic-research-skills-codex) into .claude/skills/academic-research-suite in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Or copy the skill folder (skills/academic-research-suite in Imbad0202/academic-research-skills-codex) into .agents/skills/academic-research-suite in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Imbad0202/academic-research-skills-codex --skill academic-research-suite -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/academic-research-suite, .gemini/skills/academic-research-suite, .github/skills/academic-research-suite and .opencode/skills/academic-research-suite in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Academic Research Suite for Codex needs the command-line tools its instructions call (claude) and credentials named ARS_OPENAI_COMPAT_API_KEY, S2_API_KEY and OPENALEX_API_KEY. Our summary lists: Python or `uv` available for the suite's scripts. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Glob, Grep, WebSearch, Bash(uv *), Bash(python *), Bash(python3 *).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Academic Research Suite for Codex has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 12k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 47k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
