nsfc-budgetWrites a submission-ready NSFC budget justification as a LaTeX project and renders budget.pdf from your grant proposal text and supporting materials.
The skill starts only when you explicitly ask for an NSFC budget statement, and it stops to ask for a working directory if you have not given one. It declines when you only want budgeting principles or just the numbers in a budget table, and it warns that the 2026 Youth A, B and C lump-sum scheme usually needs no statement. Inputs are the proposal text or other materials, the project type (general, local or youth) and whether the figure is the total request or the direct-cost basis, with defaults read from config.yaml.
A script creates a hidden run folder and a budget_spec.json skeleton. The agent fills that file, which is the only structured draft, with project meta, amounts, the five section texts and the evidence behind each calculation. Every amount must trace to a research task, and the agent may not invent equipment, partners, trip counts, headcount or price evidence; if support is missing it asks or writes a conservative not-listed statement. Equipment, operations and labor must sum to the direct-cost total. A second script renders the JSON into LaTeX and keeps validation reports and compile logs for iteration. The instructions are in Chinese.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b8b4142. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Ships 1 file in scripts/, which the agent can run.

NSFC Budget Justification Writer loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 61 tokens; SKILL.md has 260 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from huangwb8/ChineseResearchLaTeX at commit b8b4142, republished under its MIT licence (© huangwb8). 260 words, ~1,393 tokens.

config.yaml:defaults.total_budget_wan 取默认值。config.yaml:defaults.target_chars 推荐区间执行。config.yaml:defaults.per_section_max_chars。config.yaml:defaults.template_id。config.yaml:rules.budget_modes。config.yaml:rules.budget_scopes。
先创建隐藏工作区与 budget_spec.json 骨架:
python3 skills/nsfc-budget/scripts/init_budget_run.py \
--workdir <workdir> \
--project-type <general|local|youth> \
写作原则见:skills/nsfc-budget/references/budget-writing-rules.md。
budget_spec.json脚本生成的 budget_spec.json 是唯一结构化中间稿。
python3 skills/nsfc-budget/scripts/render_budget_project.py \
--spec <workdir>/.bensz-api/task-{yyyymmdd-hhmm}-{简短描述}/nsfc-budget/{yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm}/budget_spec.json脚本会:
<workdir>/<output_dirname>/extraTex/*.texbudget_spec.json 是否仍位于 <workdir>/.bensz-api/task-{yyyymmdd-hhmm}-{简短描述}/nsfc-budget/,保证隐藏工作区承诺不被破坏%、#、&、_),减少自然语言正文导致的编译失败validation_report.md/jsonvalidation_report.md 路径budget.pdf如校验失败,先修 budget_spec.json 再重新运行脚本,直到通过。

skills/nsfc-budget/scripts/init_budget_run.py
skills/nsfc-budget/scripts/render_budget_project.py

<workdir>/<output_dirname>/:完整 LaTeX 项目<workdir>/<output_dirname>/budget.pdf中间过程保留在:

With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add huangwb8/ChineseResearchLaTeX --skill nsfc-budget -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/nsfc-budget, .gemini/skills/nsfc-budget, .github/skills/nsfc-budget and .opencode/skills/nsfc-budget in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, NSFC Budget Justification Writer needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: A working directory that you specify; Python 3 to run the run-setup and render scripts; A LaTeX installation to compile budget.pdf.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
NSFC Budget Justification Writer is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.3k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
