research-writing-literatureWrite and revise rigorous research narratives, literature reviews, manuscript sections, citations, and figure discussions.
Research Writing Literature is an agent skill from hashgraph-online/awesome-codex-plugins. Write and revise rigorous research narratives, literature reviews, manuscript sections, citations, and figure discussions. Use for technical introductions, methods, results, discussions, review articles, abstracts, or related-work sections.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 10 other files, including reference files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`, `references/anti-formulaic-writing.md` and `references/han-hu-research-style.md`).
It sits in Research & Science, covering Literature review and Citation management. The repository describes itself as: A curated list of awesome OpenAI Codex / ChatGPT plugins, skills, and resources. The 1 Codex Marketplace. See live plugins at: https://hol.org/plugins/best-codex-plugins. The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 3e1456a. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Research Writing Literature loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~18k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 67 tokens; SKILL.md has 519 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from hashgraph-online/awesome-codex-plugins at commit 3e1456a, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© hashgraph-online). 519 words, ~1,090 tokens.
.claude/skills/research-writing-literature/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 8 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Build a research story rather than a sequence of paper summaries. Every paragraph needs a central topic, normally in its first sentence; each later sentence must develop, support, qualify, or transition from it.
When AI is used to draft or substantially revise the document, first use author-guided-ai-writing.md to obtain an author-approved story brief and claim-evidence map. Drafting and line editing do not replace those author decisions.
Before a substantial draft or structural revision, identify the reader, the decision or scientific understanding the section must support, the evidence that carries the central claim, and what the reader should know after the section. Write the structure from that reader-to-evidence path instead of filling a generic manuscript template.
references/literature-review.md.references/paper-writing-style.md.references/technical-writing-analysis.md.references/technical-argument-audit.md before a final prose-only pass.references/technical-prose-clarity.md.references/han-hu-research-style.md.references/anti-formulaic-writing.md.Use the chain: importance and applications; state of the art; remaining issue; why it persists; the proposed innovation; and its likely significance. Do not claim novelty merely because no prior work exists. Identify why the missing work is challenging and how the approach resolves a meaningful barrier.
Use FirstAuthor et al. for a multi-author narrative citation unless the target format requires otherwise. State a paper's method and takeaway in one efficient sentence when possible; avoid a redundant second sentence that only repeats its result. Group background studies by mechanism, method, material, or evidence type, and place citations beside the claim they support. Do not attach a broad citation range to a sentence that conflates distinct categories.
After each source group, state the limitation, contradiction, or knowledge gap that motivates the next step. Include background references fairly across major theories and research groups; trace seminal work backward through its references and forward through citing work.
Methods must make the work reproducible: facility/model details, procedure, data reduction, uncertainty, assumptions, and justification. For results, use four levels: figure description, observation, physical explanation, and comparison with existing work. State whether agreement, disagreement, or a new regime is supported, and limit claims to the evidence.
Do not make abstracts into compressed result tables. Use only the quantitative anchors needed to convey the main result; prioritize the problem, gap, approach, central finding, and implication. Before delivery, make an editorial pass for unfamiliar or undefined labels, repeated vague forms of enable and establish, unusually, together, unnecessary hyphenated compounds, dash forms, catalog-like headings, and modifier-heavy sentences. Use the rules in references/anti-formulaic-writing.md; review each occurrence in context rather than applying blind word bans or treating a style signal as authorship evidence. For a Word deliverable without a controlling template, use Times New Roman 11 pt, black text, single spacing, and Normal margins.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Research Writing Literature is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Research Writing Literature is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 17k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
