bump-sdkBumps the databricks-sdk-go dependency in the Databricks CLI together with its pinned OpenAPI spec SHA, then regenerates the files that depend on them.
The SDK version lives in `go.mod` and the pinned spec SHA in `.codegen/_openapi_sha`, and the two must move as a pair. The agent resolves the target version, using the one you give, the newest release tag, or the version a given Terraform provider release uses, reads the matching OpenAPI SHA from the SDK at that tag, runs `go get` for the new version, writes the SHA and runs `go mod tidy` to confirm that only the SDK line changed in `go.mod` and `go.sum`.
Generated files such as `.codegen/cli.json`, the `cmd/workspace` and `cmd/account` code, the bundle schema files and the Python bundle package are regenerated rather than edited by hand, starting with `./task generate-clijson`, which builds genkit and the spec from a Universe checkout. Python tasks run through `uv`, which provisions the interpreter each package pins, so the system Python version is not chased. The excerpt is cut off after the generation step.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ced3a80. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

Databricks CLI SDK Bump loads about 2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 52 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,044 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
` is too old (e.g. 3.9), install `uv` (`curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh`) rather than touching the systeallowed-tools: Read, Edit, Write, Bash, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, AskUserQuestionAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,044 words (~2,013 tokens).

Databricks CLI SDK Bump fits situations like: upgrading the Go SDK dependency in the Databricks CLI; updating the pinned OpenAPI spec SHA; moving the CLI to the SDK version used by a Terraform provider release.
Run `npx skills add databricks/cli --skill bump-sdk -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/bump-sdk in databricks/cli) into .claude/skills/bump-sdk in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add databricks/cli --skill bump-sdk -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/bump-sdk in databricks/cli) into .agents/skills/bump-sdk in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add databricks/cli --skill bump-sdk -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/bump-sdk, .gemini/skills/bump-sdk, .github/skills/bump-sdk and .opencode/skills/bump-sdk in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Databricks CLI SDK Bump needs the command-line tools its instructions call (go, git, gh, curl, sh and uv). Our summary lists: A Go toolchain; `uv` for the Python codegen tasks; A local Universe checkout (`UNIVERSE_DIR`) for generating `cli.json`. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Edit, Write, Bash, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, AskUserQuestion.
SKILL.md names 3 domains. In commands or code: raw.githubusercontent.com, astral.sh and github.com; the agent is likely to contact these when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pipes a well-known installer script into a shell; pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Databricks CLI SDK Bump has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 8.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
