Cometchat iOS Migration is an agent skill from cometchat/cometchat-skills. Upgrade an existing CometChat iOS integration from UI Kit v4 to v5 — composite components removed, theming replaced, properties renamed. Triggers: 'upgrade cometchat ios to v5', 'migrate from v4 uikit ios', 'CometChatConversationsWithMessages not found'.
Its SKILL.md is about 940 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts. Compatibility notes: from CometChatUIKitSwift v4 → 5.1.22 · iOS 15.1+
It sits in Mobile, covering Design systems, Theming and dark mode and iOS development. It works with CometChat and iOS. The repository describes itself as: Add CometChat chat & messaging and voice & video calls to any React, Next.js, React Native, Angular, Android, iOS, or Flutter project through your AI coding agent. Works with… The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 911b108. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

from CometChatUIKitSwift v4 → 5.1.22 · iOS 15.1+
From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Cometchat iOS Migration loads about 940 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 70 tokens; SKILL.md has 408 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/cometchat-ios-migration/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).cometchat-ios-core describes the v5 target state. This skill is the RECONCILIATION path to it. Build from the official guide — fetch /ui-kit/ios/upgrading-from-v4 via cometchat-ios-core/references/docs-map.md — then apply the deltas below. An existing v4 integration must move to v5, or a build breaks with cannot find 'CometChatConversationsWithMessages' in scope after an upgrade.
v4's composite components are gone. CometChatMessages, CometChatUsersWithMessages, CometChatGroupsWithMessages, CometChatConversationsWithMessages do not exist in v5, and neither do the configuration objects that fed them (MessageHeaderConfiguration, MessageListConfiguration, MessageComposerConfiguration).
That is not a rename — it is an inversion of ownership. v4 gave you one screen that did everything; v5 gives you three components and expects you to own the screen and the navigation. Every place the old code pushed a composite becomes a view controller you write, composed per cometchat-ios-core's golden path, with its five layout rules applied.
Budget for this honestly: it is the bulk of the work, and it is a design change in the host app, not a search-and-replace.
CometChatTheme's static colours plus per-component style objects. Re-derive the brand from the theme rather than porting v4 style code — cometchat-ios-customization.avatarStyle, badgeStyle, receiptStyle, statusIndicatorStyle, typingIndicatorStyle), onSearchClick, onSelectedItemProceed, the call-button click handlers.set(usersRequestBuilder:) → set(userRequestBuilder:) · set(subtitleView:) → set(subtitle:) and set(trailView:) → set(trailingView:) on Users/Groups only (Conversations and GroupMembers keep the old spelling) · set(sessionID:) → set(sessionId:) · set(callSettingBuilder:) → set(callSettingsBuilder:) · set(onDeclineClick:) → set(onCancelClick:) · set(parentMessage:) → set(parentMessageId:) on the list and composer, though the thread header still takes set(parentMessage:).Upgrade the dependency first and let the compiler enumerate the work — the errors are the migration checklist. Fix composites first (they cascade), then styling, then the renames. Do it additively: the host app's navigation, auth and design system stay theirs.
catalogs/ios-v5.json before porting it — if it is absent, it is gone, and a v5 doc page mentioning it is not evidence it exists. The project builds with no v4 symbols remaining; every screen that was a composite is now a composed screen that renders full-size, keyboard-avoids and navigates back; theming looks intentional rather than half-ported.

Cometchat iOS Migration fits situations like: tasks that involve Design systems; tasks that involve Theming and dark mode; tasks that involve iOS development.
Run `npx skills add cometchat/cometchat-skills --skill cometchat-ios-migration -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/cometchat-ios-migration in cometchat/cometchat-skills) into .claude/skills/cometchat-ios-migration in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add cometchat/cometchat-skills --skill cometchat-ios-migration -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cometchat-ios-migration, .gemini/skills/cometchat-ios-migration, .github/skills/cometchat-ios-migration and .opencode/skills/cometchat-ios-migration in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Cometchat iOS Migration is instructions for the agent only. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): from CometChatUIKitSwift v4 → 5.1.22 · iOS 15.1+.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cometchat iOS Migration is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 940 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
