At a glance

Finds, reads and reconstructs past coding-agent sessions across Codex, Claude, OpenCode, Senpi and many other local agent logs.

  • Works in 2 steps: IF the user names a platform, load its… → Run the broad finder first unless the…
  • Finding an earlier session where a bug was discussed or fixed
  • SKILL.md covers PHASE 0 - PLATFORM ROUTER, Output Contract, Filters and Subagent / Child Sessions, plus 3 more sections
  • Runs Python scripts from its folder; calls python3 and opencode

What it does

The skill searches local session logs before the agent answers from memory. A platform router comes first: if you name a platform, the agent loads its reference file for Codex, Claude Code and Claude Desktop, OMO, Senpi and pi logs, OpenCode and oh-my-openagent, or a long list of other agents covered by an all-platforms reference, which also handles unknown or cross-agent searches.

Unless you give an exact file path, it runs the bundled find-agent-sessions.py finder first, with commands to list recent sessions or to find a query over a time window and platform filters. For vague memories it derives several short query lanes, such as tool aliases, repo names, exact error text, issue or session IDs and likely verbs, and passes them as repeated query options so the match reasons show which wording hit. For broad searches it splits independent lanes by names, repos, platforms and time windows, uses subagents or parallel calls when they are available, merges candidates by id or path and then reads the most likely sessions.

When your agent uses it

  • Finding an earlier session where a bug was discussed or fixed
  • Recovering what a previous agent run actually did
  • Searching transcripts across several agent products at once
  • Reading the raw log of a subagent run

Example prompts

  • “Find the session from last week where we fixed the proxy timeout.”
  • “Search my Codex and OpenCode sessions for the dashboard PR.”
  • “What did the earlier session on the release script change?”

Requirements

  • Python, to run the bundled finder scripts
  • Local session logs from the agents you want to search

Workflow steps

2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. IF the user names a platform, load its reference first.
  2. Run the broad finder first unless the user gave an exact file path. For fuzzy recall, expand the query first.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cbd7dd2. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships 6 files in scripts/ (Python, from the files we listed), which the agent can run.

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • python3
    • opencode

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Coding Agent Session Finder loads about 2.8k tokens when it runs, and up to ~6.4k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 67 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,241 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~67
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~2.8k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~6.4k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,241 words (~2,774 tokens).

“Find local coding-agent sessions across agent products before answering from memory. Prefer the bundled finder for broad cross-platform search, then read the selected session or raw file when you need exact evidence.”
