naacl-workflowA skill your agent uses when planning a research project's calendar toward NAACL — handling the chapter's skipped-year rhythm, choosing an ARR cycle when the edition's feeding cycles are not yet…
Naacl Workflow is an agent skill from brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills. Use when planning a research project's calendar toward NAACL — handling the chapter's skipped-year rhythm, choosing an ARR cycle when the edition's feeding cycles are not yet announced, backward-planning data and annotation work, and keeping a decision tree for commit-versus-wait-versus-reroute moments.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
The repository describes itself as: Journal-specific Claude Code/Codex skill packs covering mainstream journals — AER, QJE, Nature, Cell, 管理世界, 经济研究 & 200+ more — your fast track to getting published. | 覆盖主流期刊的… The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 932eb23. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Naacl Workflow loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 80 tokens; SKILL.md has 606 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills at commit 932eb23, republished under its MIT licence (© brycewang-stanford). 606 words, ~1,322 tokens.
.claude/skills/naacl-workflow/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Project management for NAACL differs from every annual venue in one blunt way: the conference might not exist next year. The chapter historically skips editions when the ACL main meeting is hosted in the Americas — no NAACL 2023, no NAACL 2026 — so a NAACL plan is really a plan for entering the *ACL Rolling Review machine at a moment that leaves a NAACL commitment open, with named fallbacks for when the calendar shifts under you.
Provisional backward plan for a spring NAACL (verify every date):
T-0 conference (spring)
T-11w final versions due
T-16w commitment deadline <- reviews must exist by here
T-26w ARR cycle submission <- the real deadline
T-30w evidence freeze: data, annotation, main runs complete
T-38w annotation campaign starts (if collecting new data)
T-46w pilot studies + guideline drafting| Milestone | Owner | Exit criterion |
|---|---|---|
| Venue decision review | Whole team | NAACL still the target? (rerun quarterly — see decision tree) |
| Data/annotation freeze | Data lead | Agreement scores computed; splits published internally |
| Main-results freeze | Experiments lead | Ledger complete; variance reported |
| Paper freeze | Writing lead | Content pages self-contained; Limitations drafted |
| Compliance pass | One named person | Checklist, anonymity, template, citations verified |
| ARR upload | Corresponding author | Confirmation email archived |
| Response window | All authors on call | Every review answered per triage |
| Commitment decision | Senior author | Decision logged with rationale |
Annotation campaigns deserve the earliest slot they can get. Recruiting annotators for Guaraní or Haitian Creole is not a two-week task, and community partnerships — common for Americas-language projects — move at partnership speed, not deadline speed.
Reviews arrive; now the genuinely NAACL-specific decision:
Log the decision and the date; teams that skip the log relitigate the same choice monthly.
Between the decision to target NAACL and the edition's CFP, run a light monthly watch instead of a panicked scramble later:
{year}.naacl.org): dates,
venue, or organizing-committee announcements.Assign the watch to one named person; a "we all sort of watch" arrangement reliably discovers CFPs three weeks late, which on a ten-week cycle is fatal.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill naacl-workflow -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/naacl-workflow, .gemini/skills/naacl-workflow, .github/skills/naacl-workflow and .opencode/skills/naacl-workflow in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Naacl Workflow is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Naacl Workflow is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
