apiops-deploymentSupplies Bicep and Terraform templates, CI/CD pipeline patterns and phased promotion plans for deploying Azure API Management with APIOps workflows.
The skill covers generating Bicep or Terraform for API Management, Front Door, virtual networks and supporting services, building GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps pipelines, promoting changes from dev to test to prod with environment-specific parameters, and disaster recovery through backup, restore and blue-green deployment. A phased plan runs seven phases over 17 weeks, from core infrastructure and authentication with Entra ID, through onboarding pilot APIs and production infrastructure, to governance and an operations handoff with runbooks and training.
Before writing any Bicep, the agent is told to look up Azure Verified Modules for the resource type, call the Azure deployment best-practices tool and search the deployment documentation through the Azure MCP tools. Full templates sit in `references/IaC_TEMPLATES.md`, and a separate deployment planning guide holds the detailed plan.
3 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e9be58d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
azterraformFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
management.azure.comAlso links to:
learn.microsoft.comaka.msFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
APIOps Deployment for Azure APIM loads about 3.6k tokens when it runs, and up to ~5.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 72 tokens; SKILL.md has 625 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from thomast1906/github-copilot-agent-skills at commit e9be58d, republished under its MIT licence (© thomast1906). 625 words, ~3,569 tokens.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, APIOps Deployment for Azure APIM needs the command-line tools its instructions call (az and terraform). Our summary lists: An Azure subscription for API Management deployments; Azure MCP tools for module and best-practice lookups.
SKILL.md names 3 domains. In commands or code: management.azure.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. As links in the text: learn.microsoft.com and aka.ms. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
APIOps Deployment for Azure APIM is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 3.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 14k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 2.1k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with APIOps Deployment for Azure APIM: Senior DevOps Toolkit (maslennikov-ig/claude-code-orchestrator-kit, 259 stars), Azure Bicep Skill (timothywarner-org/claude-code, 224 stars), Tirith Policies (StackGuardian/tirith, 167 stars) and Devops Infrastructure (CloudAI-X/claude-workflow-v2, 1.4k stars).
