cloudbase-mcpCloudBase MCP reference. An agent skill from TencentCloudBase/CloudBase-AI-Toolkit.
Cloudbase MCP is an agent skill from TencentCloudBase/CloudBase-AI-Toolkit. CloudBase MCP reference. Use when connecting local or remote MCP, calling tools from the shell with mcporter, reading tool schemas, choosing the domestic or international endpoint, setting site, region, cloud mode, or plugin flags, or contributing a fix to the open-source MCP server, skills, or CLI.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 1 other file (for example `LICENSE.md`).
It sits in Agent Workflows, covering MCP servers. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: Backend for AI coding agents on CloudBase — database, auth, functions via Plugin, Skills & MCP. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5360dde. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Cloudbase MCP loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 79 tokens; SKILL.md has 584 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from TencentCloudBase/CloudBase-AI-Toolkit at commit 5360dde, republished under its MIT licence (© TencentCloudBase). 584 words, ~1,307 tokens.

Sibling CloudBase skills ship beside this skill. Use local relative paths such as ../cloudbase-cli/SKILL.md.
If a referenced sibling skill file is missing from this environment, ask the user to install the full CloudBase plugin (or the missing skill). Do not HTTP-fetch remote skill or protocol markdown into the agent context.

The hostname decides the site. Remote URLs do not take a site query parameter.
env_id and headers X-TencentCloud-SecretId / X-TencentCloud-SecretKey.TCB_SITE=intl and TCB_REGION=ap-singapore.Remote mode cannot upload local files or download templates. The international site does not expose NoSQL tools.
When this session has no native MCP tools, use mcporter. The command list and the auth examples live in ../cloudbase/references/mcp-setup.md. Read that file before login, environment binding, or manageEnv.
Check whether the server is configured:
npx mcporter list | grep cloudbaseIf it is missing, add a stdio server named cloudbase in config/mcporter.json:

}
}Read the schema before the first call. describe without --all-parameters omits parameters.
npx mcporter describe cloudbase --all-parameters
npx mcporter list cloudbase --schemaCall a tool with server.tool and key=value arguments:
npx mcporter call cloudbase.queryEnv action=list --output jsonDo not put a Secret ID, Secret Key, or environment ID into mcporter.json. Login stays on cloudbase.auth or tcb login, as written in mcp-setup.md.

TCB_REGION | API region, such as ap-shanghai or ap-singapore. |
CLOUDBASE_MCP_CLOUD_MODE or MCP_CLOUD_MODE | true disables local file and process tools for a self-hosted caller. |
CLOUDBASE_MCP_PLUGINS_ENABLED / CLOUDBASE_MCP_PLUGINS_DISABLED | Comma-separated plugin names for a local server. |
enable_plugins / disable_plugins | The same switch on a remote URL, comma-separated. |
Plugin names are the ones in mcp/src/server.ts (env, database, functions, hosting, storage, and the rest). A local server and a hosted remote server enable the same default set; turn one off for a given caller with disable_plugins on the remote URL or CLOUDBASE_MCP_PLUGINS_DISABLED on a local server.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Cloudbase MCP needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx and pnpm). Our summary lists: Node.js.
SKILL.md names 3 domains. In commands or code: tcb-api.cloud.tencent.com and tcb-api.tencentcloud.com; the agent is likely to contact these when it follows the instructions. As links in the text: cnb.cool. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cloudbase MCP is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
