At a glance

Checks what a code change touched, how far its impact reaches and whether design docs, tests and README files kept up, before commit or in review.

  • Running a check on staged changes just before committing
  • SKILL.md covers 何时使用, 三种模式, 警告判定 and 解读输出, plus 3 more sections
  • Runs JavaScript scripts from its folder; calls node and git

What it does

The skill runs scripts/change_analyzer.js on the working tree, the staged files or the latest commits, and reports three kinds of signal: files sorted into code, docs, tests and config, changes grouped by module, and an impact estimate from line and file counts. It is described as a health check for a change, not a replacement for review, and its instructions are written in Chinese.

Warnings fire when more than 50 lines of code change without a DESIGN.md update, when more than 30 lines change without test updates, when new files appear without a README update, when config changes go unrecorded, or when files are deleted and references may remain. It also gives rules of thumb for splitting a pull request, points to sibling skills for module checks, security and code quality, and asks a person to review the affected module docs and record what changed, why and where it has impact.

When your agent uses it

  • Running a check on staged changes just before committing
  • Judging how widely a refactor spreads across modules
  • Verifying that DESIGN.md, README and tests were updated along with the code
  • Deciding whether a large change should be split into several pull requests

Example prompts

  • “Analyze my staged changes before I commit and list any documentation drift.”
  • “I just finished the refactor. How far does the impact reach across modules?”
  • “Check the last commit for missing tests and an outdated DESIGN.md.”

Requirements

  • Node.js 18 or newer
  • A git repository
  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): node>=18
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash, Read, Grep

Workflow steps

3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2544577. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash
    • Read
    • Grep

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships 1 file in scripts/ (JavaScript), which the agent can run.

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • node
    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

    node>=18

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Code Change Analysis Gate loads about 532 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 62 tokens; SKILL.md has 136 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~62
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~532

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check: notes

The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.

  • NotePre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: Bash)SKILL.md
    allowed-tools: Bash, Read, Grep

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

设计级改动✅DESIGN.md 是否同步

bash
node scripts/change_analyzer.js # working(默认)
node scripts/change_analyzer.js --mode staged # 暂存区
node scripts/change_analyzer.js --mode committed # 已提交
node scripts/change_analyzer.js -v # 详细
node scripts/change_analyzer.js --json # CI 用

先读受影响模块 README/DESIGN,确认:
