openclaw-relaySends a prompt into another OpenClaw agent session over a local or SSH acpx bridge, resolving target sessions from a configurable alias file.
This skill relays a message into an OpenClaw channel session through `acpx`, choosing between two transports: `local`, for a direct relay from the current OpenClaw checkout, and `ssh`, for reaching a session on another machine, such as a Mac Studio gateway. Local is the default for quick private asks on the current machine, while SSH suits a persistent bridge or async queue and wait flows on a remote host.
The bundled `scripts/openclaw_relay.py` reads target names from `config/session_aliases.json` and exposes commands such as `doctor` for a health check, `targets` to list known aliases, `resolve` to look one up, and `ask` to send a private question to a target session. Defaults for the repo path, SSH host, gateway token file and control session name avoid hardcoded personal paths and can all be overridden through environment variables or flags. It explicitly does not cover reaching the separate Team server, which uses a different handoff skill.
2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 79150cf. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
OpenClaw Session Relay loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 21 tokens; SKILL.md has 466 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from steipete/agent-scripts at commit 79150cf, republished under its MIT licence (© steipete). 466 words, ~1,271 tokens.

For Peter's setup, Molty normally lives on the Mac Studio gateway, reached as steipete@steipete-macstudio.local; avoid the mac-studio SSH alias for one-shot relay work because that alias auto-attaches tmux.

OpenClaw Session Relay fits situations like: relaying a prompt into another OpenClaw session on the same machine; bridging a message to an OpenClaw session running on a remote host over SSH; listing or resolving configured OpenClaw session aliases.
Run `npx skills add steipete/agent-scripts --skill openclaw-relay -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/openclaw-relay in steipete/agent-scripts) into .claude/skills/openclaw-relay in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add steipete/agent-scripts --skill openclaw-relay -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/openclaw-relay in steipete/agent-scripts) into .agents/skills/openclaw-relay in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add steipete/agent-scripts --skill openclaw-relay -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/openclaw-relay, .gemini/skills/openclaw-relay, .github/skills/openclaw-relay and .opencode/skills/openclaw-relay in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, OpenClaw Session Relay needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3; A local or remote acpx checkout; SSH access for the remote transport.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
OpenClaw Session Relay is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with OpenClaw Session Relay: Orca CLI (stablyai/orca, 88k stars), Paseo Agent Handoff (getpaseo/paseo, 20k stars), MemPalace Task Handoff (MemPalace/mempalace, 59k stars) and Agent Manager Fleet TUI (YoanWai/agent-manager, 578 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
