Build Run is an agent skill from stackia/rtp2httpd. Build, configure, and run rtp2httpd locally, including embedded Web UI builds and build/runtime troubleshooting. Excludes cross-compilation and deployment.
Its SKILL.md is about 690 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Frontend & Design, covering Frontend development. The repository describes itself as: Multicast RTP/RTSP to Unicast HTTP stream converter, with built-in web player, status dashboard, fast channel change support, and more! The licence is GPL-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5e53989. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pnpmcmakeuvcurlFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pnpm, uv and curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Build Run loads about 687 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 41 tokens; SKILL.md has 290 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from stackia/rtp2httpd at commit 5e53989, republished under its GPL-2.0 licence (© stackia). 290 words, ~687 tokens.
.claude/skills/build-run/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Run commands from the repository root. Use the toolchain conventions in AGENTS.md.
Cursor Cloud's startup setup installs locked pnpm dependencies and runs uv sync --group dev. Reuse that environment; repeat setup only when dependencies are missing or changed.
For embedded UI changes, rebuild the frontend before the C binary. C-only changes can use the committed header without Node.js. Follow package.json for build scripts and CMakeLists.txt for current options.
# When Web UI sources or build inputs changed:
pnpm run web-ui:build
cmake -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DENABLE_AGGRESSIVE_OPT=ON
cmake --build build -j$(getconf _NPROCESSORS_ONLN)Release is the default for normal builds. Use Debug/RelWithDebInfo or pnpm run web-ui:build:debug when diagnosis needs symbols or source maps. ENABLE_AGGRESSIVE_OPT enables LTO and fast-math and defaults to OFF in CMake; disable it when investigating optimization-sensitive behavior.
The binary is build/rtp2httpd. The generated header follows the commit boundary in AGENTS.md.
Use an unused port, bind a local preview to loopback, and avoid loading a deployed configuration accidentally:
./build/rtp2httpd -C -v -v -v -v -l 127.0.0.1:8080-C skips the default config; -c <file> selects a config; -l [addr:]port sets the listener. For a config-based reproduction, inspect that file's listeners and upstreams first. Use ./build/rtp2httpd --help for current flags.
[global], [bind], [services] examples, read rtp2httpd.conf and the relevant section of Configuration Reference. CLI settings take precedence./rtp/, /rtsp/, and /http/ prefixes choose different protocol handlers.curl --fail http://127.0.0.1:8080/status checks basic readiness. Playback, seek, or rendering work also needs the affected stream/player scenario; a status response alone does not verify it. Reuse the chosen listener port in checks, and stop the task's daemon when finished. If a port is occupied, choose another port rather than terminating an unrelated process.

ChrisWiles/claude-code-showcase
Sets patterns for React interfaces: when to show loading spinners or skeletons, how to surface errors, how to disable buttons during async work and how to handle empty lists.
greensock/gsap-skills
Shows how to use GSAP in Vue, Nuxt, Svelte and other lifecycle-based frameworks: create after mount, scope selectors to the component, and revert on unmount.
rilldata/rill
Rules for writing idiomatic Svelte 5 code: when to reach for runes like state, derived and effect, and how to handle props, attachments and bindings.
vuetifyjs/vuetify
Maintains the Vuetify repo's local Playground.vue so contributors get a realistic reproduction and a short demo they can paste into a pull request description.
tabler/tabler
Starts the right Tabler dev server, keeps it from clashing with builds and verifies changes in the browser before a page or component is handed back.

Write, run, review, or debug rtp2httpd E2E tests and their harness in e2e/ and scripts/run-e2e.sh.

Build Run fits situations like: tasks that involve Frontend development.
Run `npx skills add stackia/rtp2httpd --skill build-run -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/build-run in stackia/rtp2httpd) into .claude/skills/build-run in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add stackia/rtp2httpd --skill build-run -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/build-run in stackia/rtp2httpd) into .agents/skills/build-run in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add stackia/rtp2httpd --skill build-run -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/build-run, .gemini/skills/build-run, .github/skills/build-run and .opencode/skills/build-run in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Build Run needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pnpm, cmake, uv and curl). Our summary lists: Node.js.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use uv and curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Build Run is published under the GPL-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 687 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Build Run: React Router Development (remix-run/react-router, 57k stars), React UI State Patterns (ChrisWiles/claude-code-showcase, 6.1k stars), GSAP in Vue, Nuxt and Svelte (greensock/gsap-skills, 16k stars) and Svelte Core Best Practices (rilldata/rill, 2.9k stars).
