agentmemory-agentsExplains how the agentmemory connect command wires the memory server into host coding agents, and how to fix an adapter that writes the wrong config path.
Running agentmemory connect with an agent name merges the agentmemory server into that host agent's config while keeping any servers already listed. REST is the underlying protocol, and for hosts that only speak MCP the adapter sets up a stdio MCP bridge. The agent is detected from the caller, defaulting to claude-code, and valid names come from a table in REFERENCE.md that is generated from the connect adapter source.
After wiring, you restart the host or run its MCP reload and confirm that the agent lists agentmemory's tools; seeing only 7 tools means the MCP shim could not reach a server. Action skills such as remember and recall are installed separately with npx skills add rohitg00/agentmemory, because connect only exposes tools. On Windows the advice is to use WSL2, since connect is not supported on native Windows.

Agentmemory Agent Connector loads about 402 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 60 tokens; SKILL.md has 180 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Sets up and troubleshoots a local agentmemory install, covering the MCP connection, environment variables, ports, authentication and optional feature flags.
rohitg00/agentmemory
Traces a file, function or line back to the agent session behind its current commit, using git blame and a memory lookup, and reports only what the records show.
rohitg00/agentmemory
Lists recent git commits linked to agent sessions, filterable by branch, repository or a result limit, showing the session id and observation count behind each one.
rohitg00/agentmemory

Agentmemory Agent Connector fits situations like: installing agentmemory into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Gemini CLI; checking which host agents the connect command supports; fixing a connect adapter that wrote its config to the wrong path.
Run `npx skills add rohitg00/agentmemory --skill agentmemory-agents -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugin/skills/agentmemory-agents in rohitg00/agentmemory) into .claude/skills/agentmemory-agents in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add rohitg00/agentmemory --skill agentmemory-agents -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugin/skills/agentmemory-agents in rohitg00/agentmemory) into .agents/skills/agentmemory-agents in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add rohitg00/agentmemory --skill agentmemory-agents -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/agentmemory-agents, .gemini/skills/agentmemory-agents, .github/skills/agentmemory-agents and .opencode/skills/agentmemory-agents in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Agentmemory Agent Connector needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx). Our summary lists: The agentmemory CLI and server; WSL2 on Windows.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Agentmemory Agent Connector is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 402 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
