inkos-story-importImports an existing novel manuscript into an InkOS project, rebuilds its story state, and keeps your own chapters apart from reference material and fan-fiction canon.
This skill covers turning a finished or partial manuscript into an editable, continuable InkOS project. The agent first works out what you want: import the text as real chapters of the active book and rebuild its state, keep it as reference material only, or use an archived source to guide future chapters for purposes you state. Chapter order follows natural chapter-number sorting, and when the active book already has chapters the agent confirms where the continuation should begin.
After an import the agent reports how many chapters came in, any gaps it found, the facts it reconstructed, what remains uncertain and the next safe point to continue writing. Missing canon is flagged for later confirmation instead of being invented. For fan-fiction canon it extracts world rules, character identity and voice, key-event order, information boundaries, capability limits and style traits, citing only the evidence you supplied. Your own manuscript is never treated as an imitation target by default, and a reconstruction rubric file is loaded for large or inconsistent manuscripts.

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

InkOS Story Import loads about 360 tokens when it runs, and up to ~517 if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 28 tokens; SKILL.md has 169 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: InkOS Story Import is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: An InkOS project with an active book.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 360 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 157 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
