What it does
The skill is for prose that feels generic, over-explained, repetitive or machine-written. Rather than counting banned words or applying global replacements, the agent reads for what each passage does. It looks for unsupported conclusions, emotion labels with no scene evidence, canned transitions, symmetrical stock phrasing, decorative detail, summary standing in for scene, and dialogue that only passes along information.
It separates real defects from legitimate voice choices, since repetition can be rhythm and short sentences can be pressure, and it preserves plot facts, viewpoint, character voice, pacing function and strong original lines. In an active book it audits first when scope is unclear and uses the reviser for authorized rewrites, never claiming a chapter was saved when it only appeared in chat. It replies in your language and loads `references/semantic-cleanup.md` for passage-level diagnosis.
