openpitrixExplains KubeSphere's OpenPitrix application management: repositories, app templates and versions, reviews, releases and categories, plus fixing install and upgrade problems.
OpenPitrix is the application management layer behind the KubeSphere App Store, and this skill gives the agent a working model of it. For KubeSphere 4.x it points to the application.kubesphere.io/v2 API group and maps each v2 object to its older OpenPitrix counterpart: Repo, Application, ApplicationVersion, ApplicationRelease and Category.
It records the namespace and labels the data lives under, such as the extension-openpitrix namespace and the repository, app and version ID labels, and describes the controllers that load Helm repository indexes, clean up unused versions, install or upgrade releases through Helm executor Jobs and keep category counts. It also helps the agent decide whether a request about the app store concerns the workspace-level app management pages or the global App Store management extension.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use kubectl, curl and helm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
OpenPitrix Application Management loads about 9.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 79 tokens; SKILL.md has 2,022 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 2,022 words (~9,414 tokens).
“OpenPitrix is KubeSphere's application management capability for app repositories, app templates, versions, reviews, and app releases. In KubeSphere 4.x the runtime API group is application.kubesphere.io/v2; older OpenPitrix extension code used openpitrix.io/v2 CRUD APIs and openpitrix.io/v2alpha1 read/list wrappers over application.kubesphere.io/v1alpha1 resources.”

Explains KubeSphere's OpenPitrix application management: repositories, app templates and versions, reviews, releases and categories, plus fixing install and upgrade problems. OpenPitrix is the application management layer behind the KubeSphere App Store, and this skill gives the agent a working model of it.io/v2 API group and maps each v2 object to its older OpenPitrix counterpart: Repo, Application, ApplicationVersion, ApplicationRelease and Category.
OpenPitrix Application Management fits situations like: adding an application repository to the KubeSphere App Store and checking its sync state; looking up app templates, versions, review states or categories; finding out why an application release failed to install or upgrade; mapping older OpenPitrix resource names to their KubeSphere 4.x equivalents.
Run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill openpitrix -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/openpitrix in kubesphere/kubesphere) into .claude/skills/openpitrix in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill openpitrix -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/openpitrix in kubesphere/kubesphere) into .agents/skills/openpitrix in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill openpitrix -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/openpitrix, .gemini/skills/openpitrix, .github/skills/openpitrix and .opencode/skills/openpitrix in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, OpenPitrix Application Management needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python, kubectl, curl, helm and jq). Our summary lists: kubectl access to a KubeSphere 4.x cluster with the OpenPitrix extension.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
OpenPitrix Application Management has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 9.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 38k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
